ruggy Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 There is only one pic of her, but I started to e-mail this woman anyway. She replied back and said she'd like to know more about me. I then said, sure, do you have IM? She replied back and said yes. Gave me both her Yahoo and AOL IM account name. She said until we talk, you take care of your handsome self. Anything seem strange about that, or I am jumping to conclusions?
DarkestDreams Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 She complimented you by saying you're handsome. Nothing strange about it from where I'm sitting.
Author ruggy Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 A first in online dating for me. At least before meeting me in person.
SoulSearch_CO Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Strange about WHAT? Or am I missing something? LOL Explain what you're having hesitations about because I see a pretty normal interaction.
Author ruggy Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 With hundreds and hundreds of blow-offs and no replies, I find it weird that in a second e-mail a woman would say - you take care of your handsome self. That is all. Heard about those scams some people do in online dating, so preparing for the worse. Picture Demi Moore 20 years ago. Does really figure well for me. As average looking women blew me off or did not reply to my e-mails and Ims.
SoulSearch_CO Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Well...as one woman on LS has in her signature (I think it's TBF): One woman's trash is another woman's treasure. So with the comment itself I wouldn't immediately think, "SCAMMER!" When dealing with ANYTHING online I tend to be pretty cynical. Who knows? Maybe she's over-complimentary. Some people are like that. All I'm saying is be careful sure (be careful with ANYONE you meet from a dating site), but don't immediately discount her off hand.
dressing up Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Having read your other threads, the part about her calling you handsome jumps out at me. It wasn't that I think or know what you look like but I assume you were thinking that was strange. I don't think that was strange. You're probably being paranoid because of your past experiences. Nothing wrong with her calling you that. You can only decide if she's a creeper only after you know her better.
