After 8 years together my girlfriend has broken up with me suddnenly

Wow! I would point blank ask her if the reason she was unhappy was because you didn't get engaged yet. How long have u been talking about it? Maybe that's why she was talking to your family about it so they would light a fire under you??? But who knows? Some girls will only wait so long and walk away. Girls want to get married, have kids, etc.

 

Perhaps this is the reason, but I can't ask her now as we are on NC. The talk started about 3 months ago. Perhaps I dragged my heels a bit, and I remember I talked about getting a new car, and I know she mentioned that I should spend more on her ring than the car.....but I am certain she knew I was planning to take her to Barcelona to propose for her birthday in August.

 

I have heard from a family member that she now says she only mentioned marriage because she thought it would improve things. However she let me tell her family members there was the possibility we would be getting married next year.....just all so confusing.
