Joey Popps Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 When I first got back into the dating scene I tried to get as many numbers as I could and did call every single one of them back. But 95 percent of the time either the female didn't answer, never returned my call or text, or they had every excuse in the book why they couldn't go out. Or a few times I set up a date and they never even bothered to show up. So in my opinion if I get numbers at a bar/club I don't hold much faith that they will be worth it. Every once in a while I'll think somebody is pretty cool and actually get back to them but again, 95 percent of the time they won't even return my call or text. So if I go out and get 10 numbers, the reality is 9 of those females will never get back to me or will get back to me and have excuses why they can't go out. I get as many numbers as I can so I do meet that person who actually isn't just giving their numbers out for who knows what reason. And like I said 95 percent of the time women are the ones making excuses or ignoring the guys even after they gave out their number.
CalHorn Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I wouldn't call folks flakes since dating is such a "feel" endeavor. Guys are constantly told--don't pay too much attention early otherwise you're too nice but on the other hand, you're still suppose to pursue. Frankly, it feels like an art-form and face it, folks posting here probably aren't masters of it . Then if a guys been burned enough, the point (as some other folks here have mentioned) is it worth burning time to talk to a woman that you're just sort of interested in (answer for guys working 50-60 hours a week is "it depends").
Author Lishy Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 I am not going to worry about it and thank you everyone for your advice and feedback on your own experiences. Hearing it from the mans point of view helps too ... I did not realise that so many women did that! I would never give out my number if I was not interested or give a fake one, I would just say "no" Oh well we live and learn!
