sb129 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 On someone like Kat vonD- I think her tattoos are kinda cool. She is a tattoo artist, so she is displaying her craft as it were. Looks like she has made a reasonable living out of it too. I would imagine she finds tats hot in a guy, so everyones a winner in that situation.
LucreziaBorgia Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I would date someone with tattoos. I would date someone without them. I never really minded much about what a person's skin looked like. I'm not the sort who reads a lot into stuff like that. Society seems to always have a problem with 'different', alas. What it all boils down to is drawings on the skin. Society and human nature reads a ridiculous amount of meaning into them. An alien race would see this and think... "why do they care so much about it?" I have tattoos all over, and when I'm old and wrinkly I will look down at them and think... "I still love my ink".
patcha Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 It would depend. For me, I'm not much of a ink on skin person. I love bare skin! I wouldn't even go for someone with one tattoo. Let alone 56! Just a personal preference though. Nothing wrong with tattoos. I might be singing a different tune if I fell in love with someone, and they show me a little tattoo on their ankle or some other hidden place much later though.
Trialbyfire Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 The tattoo artist in the original story looks like a fright mask! No, I wouldn't date anyone with a lot of tattoos, especially facial ones. The odd tasteful small one in discreet areas of the body, perhaps, since more than likely I wouldn't know about them until after I'd fallen for him.
MusicChick24 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 No I wouldn't, but then again I think tattoos take a way from a persons physical appearance and I don't understand why someone would want to permantly brand themselves. Just my opinion.
D-Lish Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I don't mind tat's on guys. On the face is a bit nutty- but all over the body- I don't think I'd take off if I liked everything else about the guy. I was getting coffee the other day and there was this 50 something woman with her daughter- both with tats (legs, shoulder, feet...) in front of me. The daughter looked fine- but the mother just looked silly- foolish even. That's the thing about tats- you get them at some point in your life when they have meaning..... then things change and they are there whether you want them or not. I have a small nose stud (tiny jewel)- and I have a belly button ring. I can take them out and forget about them when I change my mind about loving them. You can't do that with tats. Removal still leaves a scar.
OceanBlue Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 No I wouldn't, but then again I think tattoos take a way from a persons physical appearance and I don't understand why someone would want to permantly brand themselves. Just my opinion. Ooh...branding is a whole 'nother story... I would date someone with tattoos...dependent on what and where...meaning etc... A bunch of stars on the face? Nope. An old girlfriend's name? Nope. I have a tattoo...in a very discreet location. And when I am old and wrinkly and it is still there, I will just smile and know that I am in the 3rd phase of my life, as depicted in my tattoo. It was something I always wanted, and it took many years to determine the design and overcome the fear of the pain involved.
