Hi,

So i was reading this story about the woman who got 56 stars tattooed on her face, then lied about it, and i was thinking...

How much is too much?

Guys and girls, would you date someone with facial tattoos?

Ladies, would you date someone with a tattoo of a busty half-naked woman on his arm? What if he was a really sweet guy, and got it when he was young and stupid?

What about if they had a tattoo with another womans/mans name on their arm?

Where do you cross the line from classy to trashy?????

I've got 5 tattoos, all small bugs, 1-2inches, all in areas that are easily covered (ie ankle, hips, back, shoulder) and have never had any complaints. Whats your experience / view????

oh, story is below...

Thanks

(Also, does anyone know what the :bunny: means?? I like it, just not sure if its just a rabbit or has some subversive meaning???:bunny::bunny::bunny:)

Not that big on tattoos - I like it but would probably just date someone with one or two tatts and that's it.

My question is - how does one get 56 stars tattoed on their face and lie about it? What did she tell people - they were birth marks?

The fact that someone has tats, regardless of how distasteful they may be isn't the issue. The issue is whether you're attracted to the person. You can get tats removed or re-worked to look decent these days - IF the person w/ the tats wants them removed.

It was on the news, she claimed she asked for 3 small tattoos near her eye, fell asleep, then woke up and had 56 star tattoos on her face. Yeah, because theres nothing more pleasant to fall asleep to than a man gouging a needle into your face....

Didn't she feel the pain?!

Maybe the stupid burned so fiercely that the tattoos were trivial by comparison.

No sh**. But then again, I have no tattoos, only 9 piercing and I GUARANTEE you that I didn't fall asleep while the guy was putting those needles thru my parts.

I can see falling asleep during a long tattoo session. Piercings are different because it's pretty quick. I mean, how long does it really take to do a tongue piercing. But there reaches a point with tattoos where you go outside the pain. Not that you don't feel it, but that you're unaffected by it. Or maybe that's my S&M showing. ;)

I would date a guy with a lot of tattoos. Probably not facial tattoos though. The first date I went on after my separation, the guy warned me ahead of time that a possible deal-breaker for me was that he has tattoos that can't be covered by a t-shirt. I think my response was, "Ooh, really?!?!" I like tats. I mean, if a guy's got a beautiful body and doesn't want any, that's fine too, just so long as he realizes mine aren't going anywhere. Besides, it shows a guy isn't afraid of commitment. :D

And I don't mind what he has tattooed as much as whether it's decent art. If you're going to put it on your body, at least get it done by someone good. So naked woman on his forearm- sure, if done nicely. The ONLY art I would run from is when I was getting my first tattoo, the guy was telling me that he had a strongly pornographic pig tattooed on his stomach (I saw it and I'm not easily offended, but this was really hardcore), and his buddy had an abortion tattooed on his. That's past the lines of art and makes me wonder about their very mental state...

That is freaking EXACTLY what I was thinking when I first heard this story. I have one tatt and there's no way in hell I would have fallen asleep...and it's on my ankle, not my FACE! I was wondering WTH kind of drugs she was on to be able to fall asleep. I'm actually kind of relieved to hear she lied. The original story made no ****ing sense.

Hmmmmm...you mean if the guy that wanted to date me looked like that tattoo artist? LOL

I don't know. It would honestly depend on the guy. Seriously, just like any physical trait, it might catch my attention at first and could possibly turn me off right at first. But if I got to know the guy and we were compatible, I don't think I'd end up caring. It would also depend on WHAT the picture was that was tattooed on them. Case-by-case. Can't give a true blanket answer on this one.

I don't like tattoos, nor piercings other than ears for that matter. I would never date someone who has 56 tattoos, and at most, I would accept 1 or 2 small discrete ones. And even then, I'd prefer zero. It's just not my crowd.

I had one on my ankle which was costly and painful to remove. I made my daughter come with me so she would know getting one was something she would regret.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww NEVER!!! That's disgusting. Tattoos are kind of gross to begin with, maybe one I can handle more than 3 see you later!

tattoos are okay, some of them are actually fascinating once you learn the meaning behind them. And I'd love to hear the tale about your "insect collection," lab!

not sure about facial tattoos, I think that's going a bit overboard. Cosmetic stuff, like the fake eyeliner or a discreet mole would be neat, but the rest of it is a bit much IMO.

I am not into facial tattoos- other ones are OK as long as they can be hidden when they need to be.

My line of work is pretty conservative about that kind of thing- a facial tattoo could be professional suicide.

I quite like the star idea though- ONE or TWO teeny silver or gold stars high on the cheek could look kinda cool if you were going to a party or something (removable of course!)

56 seems pretty excessive and I have a hard time imagining myself attracted to someone with that many, especially facial tats - but I also try not to limit myself, so I wouldn't say "never." You just never know :p

Tats can be pretty sexy - once I dated this guy who you totally wouldn't expect to have any (went to Catholic school, super preppy and so on), and he had two tats that I never even knew about until we hooked up (after several months of dating) - so unexpected and SO SEXY.

I would be hesitant of any tats that made me think the guy was a tool, that were really badly done (no one should be careless about something so permanent), or if he had a girl's name tattooed on his body. For the last one, I would just have to wonder about his emotional stability/independence and so on - he would have to prove to me that he didn't have issues. That's mostly because of a bad past experience with a bf that almost got my name tattooed down his forearm (not at my request) - I had to beg him to simply get "Forever" instead of my name and forever, and he had SOOOOO many issues.

It would depend on how they explained it. "A defining moment in my life that needed to be marked....I don't regret it in the slightest" wouldn't really cut it. "I got it done before my period of extensive and highly illuminating therapy from which I've benefited immensely" might.

When I was in my teens I went through a rebellious phase, and I dated a guy with several tattoos, a leather jacket and a mohican :) I have to admit, even at the time I didn't think the tattooes were cool, it was more that I thought I was being a rebel by dating him. Nowadays I ideally wouldn't want to date someone with a tattoo, because I think it looks a bit trashy, and I'm guessing the sort of person who likes tattoos wouldn't be compatible with me anyway.

Im not that keen on them - dont mind one or two perhaps but not partial to loads.

I'm not crazy about tattoos or piercings.. on men.

I absolutely find tattoos 'trashy' and tacky for women.. ewwwww... I don't mind the belly button.. only if she has a nice toned belly... not a big jelly one..

I personally find them repulsive. I really don't understand the appeal.

This tells me that you have no idea who Kat von D is. :D

She probably could care less what the tattoos will look like on her body when she's old.

And I think tattoos look awesome on some people.

Kat VonDs stars look way better than the other girl in the OP. IMO.

I have four tattoos. Two very big ones. One on my right bicep shoulder and one on my left bicep shoulder. The two other small ones are on my thigh area and on my ankle. None could be seen unless I am shirtless. They all have meaning. One commemorates my service in the Marine Corps and the brothers in arms I lost while deployed, the other one commemorates the holocaust where half of my mothers family perished. If a woman doesn't like my tattoos and thinks they are trashy, she can kiss my you know what.
