Wow the headaches just keep getting worse

Have a longtime friend who everyone said likes me, but I told him in no uncertain terms that we were just friends, more than a month ago. I did not want any confusion and felt like if he couldn't deal with it, then he should stop hanging around.

Any way he finds out that I'm seeing a guy and starts spreading rumors about me and him to try to break us up. Saying that I am chasing after him everywhere we go, that we ran off together after a party and sleeping together and trying to make us look like two sluts (or at least one, me). Which isn't true, we are both religious and our dates and plans have been pretty ordinary stuff. Eventually the rumors get to my guy's mom and now he is acting very cold to me. I have confronted my "friend" about it and he denies everything.

Not sure how to deal with this.

First, ditch this friend of yours, he's just causing you trouble and obviously isn't even a friend.

All you can do is tell your current boyfriend its a lie. Not much else you can do, some guys let their imagination wander so much that even if you tell him the truth he can't handle the possibility it may have happened.
