pandagirl Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Just got back from a date with my guy, the first time I saw him since I disclosed my herpes to him. I was trying to be aware of any changes in his behavior toward me -- to see if he was backing off at all...but nope! He is so incredibly thoughtful and considerate of me, offering his jacket if I looked cold, holding my bag when I needed to tie my shoe, making sure I was safe crossing the street. They're just little things, but I really appreciate these kinds of small gestures! I mentioned facebook in a conversation, and he said: "Hey...we aren't facebook friends!" and I said, 'Do you *want* to be friends on facebook?' And he just smiled all big and said: "Yeah! Let's be friends!" Also, he hasn't logged into the dating site we met on in a week. Could it be possibly I'm finally dating a nice guy??
Land Shark Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I don't understand why you told him you have herpes. Seemed unnecessary to test him like that.
Author pandagirl Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 I just hope that anyone on LS who has herpes reads this and see that people WILL look past herpes. I've only ever told two people, and both guys have been completely fine with it.
hoping2heal Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I don't understand why you told him you have herpes. Seemed unnecessary to test him like that. To test him? If I'm dating someone and they have herpes, they'd better tell me. To be honest, I couldn't continue dating them. Herpes is just too risky for me,what if we don't work out, I end up with herpes and then I always put a future partner at risk? I wouldn't want to live like that, but if a person knows and wants to continue dating, then good for them both. I don't see how it's a test of any kind for her to have been up front.
Just Angel Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 So happy for you Panda =) He does sound like a great guy. Hoping you let him know just how important those little things are. =)
hoping2heal Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Yeah the little things are the best really. There's no extravagant gift or getaway vacation that can ever replace the little things like, trully listening, making sure that you're comfortable, and the little actions that shows you care and make a person feel trully adored and doted on. Those little things are the cutest .
boldjack Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 PG, I could not be happier.!!! :D You deserve someone like this!!:D

hoping2heal Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 It really is the cutest! He's so incredibly thoughtful. A thoughtful man is worth his weight in gold . Ah, just reading this is making me miss my boo boo .
Prodigal Princess Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I don't understand why you told him you have herpes. Seemed unnecessary to test him like that. Listen, just because you choose not to tell your partners about your HIV positive status, is no reason to impose those values on pandagirl.
BobSacamento Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I'm just going to venture a wild guess here - perhaps both guys already had herpes.
Trialbyfire Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 He does sound like a sweetheart. Relax and enjoy, pandagirl.
Jester268 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I don't understand why you told him you have herpes. Seemed unnecessary to test him like that. It's not really a test so much as a consideration. Pandagirl did the right thing. Both for herself and for him.
Cora Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Sounds like you found yourself a really good guy panda. I'm happy for you! It's always nice to read happy posts! :)
missdependant Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I wish my boyfriend offered me his coat when I looked cold! Congrats!
