I got dumped over three months back. Horrible pain of course. But then I started to feel a little better..I was actually doing pretty ok for the last month or so. But now I have come across pics of him and his new gf on a romantic weekend away (to a place where we had plans to go) on facebook...and I am burning up. It's like I am back to square one. It hurt like hell the first time I saw their pics together which was a mere 10 days after the breakup. And now, almost four months later, I still can't handle it.

To add insult to injury, I have crushed on this guy in a tv series...yes, I am that pathetic. I started watching the show just for him. And last night I realized, that the character was a tv version of my ex. Same hairstyle, same style sense, same way of talking, even the same affinity for parties and sarcasm. Damn, am I still looking for him subconsciously after all this time?

Still looking for him subconsciously? You're looking for him CONSCIOUSLY if you're looking at his Facebook! You are bringing that pain onto yourself, those pictures would never be able to hurt you aside from the fact that you are allowing yourself to check his page. Stop looking.

I agree. You have to stop looking at his facebook. What you don't know can't hurt you. You said it yourself you were starting to feel better then wham! Ouch!

You can't always rely on willpower alone (I sound like a nicotine patch advert here!) so it might be an idea to put a block on his facebook page so that when you try to view his page, the computer doesn't let you.

I did this (after doing exactly what you did) and I made my friend choose the password so i can' unlock it. Now I can't view any of his pages and I'm feeling much better! :)

If you don't know how to block a site, here's what to do.

I think this is how you do it anyways. If I've got it wrong. Please correct me.

Open internet explorer

Go to 'tools'

Choose internet options

Choose content

Click on settings

Click on approved sites

In the box type in the exact URL of the site you want to block

Click on the 'Never' box

At some point you'll be asked to choose a password. Now bear in mind that you may need for whatever reason to unblock a site at some stage so you can't lose the password but you also don't want to be able to unblock the sites whenever you want.

I suggest 1 of 2 options.

1. You get a friend/family member to choose the password, type it in (not telling you what it is) and write it down somewhere safe so they don't lose it. That way if you need to unblock anything, you have to call them for access to the password.

2. You choose a password yourself. Not one that's easy to remember! Then you write it down and put it away somewhere where you can find it but it'll take you a while to get to it. For example, inside a locked case underneath something like a couch in a room other than the one your computer's in. That way if you have a friend looking out for you, they'll see you going for that password. if not, at least going to get your password will give you some time to ponder over whether or not it's a good idea.

Thanks for replying guys.

I did un-friend him on facebook. But we have tons of mutual friends and when they comment on his photos, it sometimes shows on my homepage! I hate myself for opening the link at all...but it was too much..I knew I was going to get hurt but still could not resist it...almost masochistic...gah!

But I am gonna try your thing Nuala...hope that works.

I hate him. Effing jerk.

Unfriend him, and stop trolling his profile. It will only upset you.

He had a new girl 10 days later? He sounds like an ass. You are better off without him.
