MO3434 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 ok so me and my gf were together for about 10 months until yesterday...we got into a huge fight (that shouldnt have happened) and mutually agreed we needed to take a break...we have had fights before...a little background on us...we started dating back in aug of 08...she left to do this disney college program in jan of 09 and has been there since...we go to the same college but she wont be home till aug of this year...luckly i am doing a summer job about an hour and a half from her this summer...so instead of it being a 17 hour long distance relationship, this summer it has only been an hour and a half long distance relationship...this is the problem...i do love this girl...i just dont know if i am "in love" with her like i used to be...maybe its the distance and the time we have been apart that has changed things...we are still talking to each other i just feel so bad about things...she wants this break too but really believes we will get back together once school starts again...and i dont know what to think...there is a part of me that thinks things will work out...but the other part of me says i need my time to be single and not be in a relationship...What do i tell her? i've been trying to explain i dont know if a relationship is going to be right once school starts but she keeps telling me she "knows its going to work" (i think she thinks her telling me that gives me more hope and makes me feel better; but it doesnt it just makes it harder since i am confused)Any help would be great please i could use your wisdom :)thanks,a torn heart
NiceGuy4Ever Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Okay, off the bat, long distance relationships usually never work out. You are confused about your feelings and if you want to sort them out as in if you Love her or not, breaking up is not going to help that. Think about it, how are you going to figure out if you Love her or not if you are not WITH her. If you're both taking a break I'm not sure if you'll get back together. Some people do and others don't. It's your call but I would suggest to hang on. Hope this helps.
