So, me and my ex of 3 1/2 years have mutually decided that for us to realize what and who we really want in life. We both love each other, but know that we need our space right now. It was hard for the both of us, but we're going to take a month or so without contact, then after that we were planning on hanging out as friends to see what happens. Deep down I know that I want to be with her, and I'm hoping the feeling is mutual, but there's no telling.......Anyways, we made plans during this conversation to go skydiving together once we started to hang out again, and she says "If there is anyone I would do it with, it would be you" and that made me feel great to hear that. So I ended the night with a hug, and neither of us wanted to let go and it seemed to last forever. So the next morning she sent me a text saying "Or we could go on a hot air balloon ride?" and that got me thinking. That is something that is romantic and something that a couple would do. I didn't know what to think of it, but I gladly accepted it.

Have you gone a month with no contact?? if not, dont do it! if she hasnt come to you saying "lets try again", then shes using you for FRIENDSHIP!

After you separated you should be getting back together with knowledge of where you stand. So, no balloon rides, until she wants to get back with you. if she doesnt, she loses.

It sounds like the sort of thing a guy would do if he wanted to propose!

Well, we are going to give it a month or so without contact with one another. We had planned on trying skydiving, but the next morning after the conversation she sent me the text saying, "or we could go on a hot air balloon ride". Her mother and grandmother both gave her the advice that If you become friends with someone and know that you can have fun with them without the whole sexual expierience, or partying all the time, then you can truly make it through marridge. My aunt(very wise women who knows alot) gave me the same advice as my ex's grandmother and mother. My ex has also made the effort to try and hang with me and keep contact. You know, I believe that she is trying to make things work in the long run, and I also understand that we're young and need to expierience different things and people while around this age, otherwise one of us might later on down the road when there might be children involved.

Now, there aren't any girls that I'm interested in. That could possibly change, and the same goes for her. I guess I will just see what its like when on the balloon ride, and make the decision to pursue her or not.

Her grandmother and mother dont realize that she is probably looking at some other guy to date right now, and they dont know shes looking to get only attention from you. be on your guard, dont talk to her for a month. This sounds waay too fishy.
