one goal Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Hey guys. I had my Pilates class again tonight. Anyways that brunette chick didnt look so good like she did before because the light shining in from outside. Anyways the other blonde looked REALLY cute! The thing is she looks probably like 19-20. Anyways is there anything wrong with hitting on younger ones? I dont look 25 at all. I wanted to get her name and talk to her, but I was in class before her, and then she came in thru the other door though. Anyways after class I was going to ask her if she wanted to get something to drink in the student lounge, but she left before I could get there. I was seriously going to start talking to her but the stupid timing wasn't right once again. I guess I'll go thru the side door next time.
Trialbyfire Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 If clubbing or drinking in any form, is important to you, where you live in a jurisdiction that has an age limit of 21, a younger girl will not fit your lifestyle, unless she illegally enters establishments like bars, clubs and pubs. Beyond that, if you're 25 and she's only 19-20, no big deal, as long as it's legal in your jurisdiction. Anyone younger than that, particularly 17 and under, will probably get you 10...

I dont like to go clubbing and such. I agree no big deal. No I wouldnt go after someone under 18. I mean look at Katharine McPhee. Shes 25 and her husband is 44!

Author one goal Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 Katherine McPhee guy?! Could it be? As long as they're 18 and over, why the heck not? true. Look in Hollywood how big the age gaps are. hayden panettiere dates a guy in his 30s, Anne Hathaways ex boyfriend was like in his 30s, and look at Demi Moore.
You'reasian Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Age differences and sometimes big age differences are typical in different regions of the world, like south america, asia and the mideast. As long as the woman (or man) is atleast 18, they are legal - now, is it socially acceptable? It depends on the individual. A woman whom is 18 but looks and acts older could blend well with an older man - however, it is generally harder and less socially acceptable for a man whom is 18 to blend well with an older woman.

True. Why is it though most hot girls date older guys? At least I notice that a lot.
Citizen Erased Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 True. Why is it though most hot girls date older guys? At least I notice that a lot. Because they're hot enough for the older guys to disregard the age difference.
EddieN Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 True. Why is it though most hot girls date older guys? At least I notice that a lot. Because they can? Young girls like older guys because older guys are more financially established. I was once out with my brother last year and we met up with his friend and friend's new gf. His friend was 35 and the girlfriend was 19. She was apparently a model (she was cute but I wouldn't go so far to call her a model) and really flirty and stupid. Honestly, neither her nor my brother's friend were big prizes...so they made a good couple.
start-fresh Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Katherine McPhee guy?! Could it be? As long as they're 18 and over, why the heck not? Yeah, this was established in one of his previous threads. Here's the Kat McPhee thread. http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t164405/
fastnfurious Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Just follow the "divide by half PLUS 7" rule: i.e. if you're 26 then you divide this by half giving you 13; then you add 7. This means you can hit on a 20 year old upwards
fishtaco Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Just follow the "divide by half PLUS 7" rule: i.e. if you're 26 then you divide this by half giving you 13; then you add 7. This means you can hit on a 20 year old upwards I thought it was more like divide by half and set it equal to the legal age. I don't see anything wrong with dating someone half your age, or younger, as long as there are no legal issues. Although usually the age gap mean you are less likely to be compatible. I find women in their early 20's, or even 18, cute. But I tend to get along with women in their 30's better, because I'm in my 30's. Would I date an 18 year old? Sure, why not. But for every 18 year old that I would date, there are ten 30 year olds that I would date. It's all a matter of which one I run into first.

The age gap is not excessive if she is 19 or 20 but why she would want to go out with someone obsessed by appearance beats me.

Shes 25 and her husband is 44!Well....25 and 44 sounds to me like a bad case of mid-life crisis and daddy take-care-of-me syndrome! Overall, it's more stage in life, than age in life. It's always surprising to me that people with 20+ year age gaps have much in common and of course, there are exceptions to every rule.
bac Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I thought you are in 40s or 50s when I read your question title. The general rule is that you can hit on anyone who wants you too. There is a chance she wants you too but you do not know before you try. Many girls like older man even in 40s and 30s for many different reasons. Many older women in 40s like guys in 20s because of sex.
Chiron Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 First of all age does not matter for the most part. Your post alludes to the fact that in some way you are worried about what people might think. I say if you guys fit well together then you fit well together. When I was 18 I was suduced by a 36 Y/O woman. I owe SO much to that relationship. She taught me how to be confortable with a woman's body AND my own. Also she gave me a lot of good advise about just dating women in general and I owe her several million $$$$ for that education. So yeah cute is one thing but how you get along is totally another. THe question that comes up for me is, why are you worried about her age if it's legal and do you always go for yuonger women? If so, why? Not that I have an answer, though after many laps around the "block" I have to say I care less about age and more about how we fit together. I've had my worst relationships with "stunning" women and the best and most meaningful with the cute/spunky ones. So I'd say ask her out 18 or 36 and see where it goes. 5-10 years differance is doable, more than that and usually your in too different a place in your life's journey to make it work. Balls to the wall, -Chiron

BobSacamento Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Dude go for it. Many 20 year olds are hot. They haven't completely destroyed their bodies from binge drinking in College yet.
Author one goal Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 I talked to that girl in Pilates class again the other day. Didnt get time to say much but said hi to her before class, and after I told her have a good weekend and see her next week. I mean does she notice I seem interested in her since I keep noticing her? So on Tuesday when I see her again should I take the next step? I mean ask her if she wants to get something to eat, drink after class? What should I ask her? Is that rushing things too soon since I've only talked to her a couple times?
dunstable Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 So on Tuesday when I see her again should I take the next step? I mean ask her if she wants to get something to eat, drink after class? I think probably you should take that risk. Only way to find out if she's been noticing you too. If she says she can't because she has to be somewhere else at a certain time, ask her if she would like to meet up on another occasion. Either try to make the arrangement there and then or get her phone number so you can call her to arrange something. If she's really not interested, try not to take offense.
SoulSearch_CO Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 If she's really not interested, try not to take offense. Or scare the **** out of her.
