My only advice would be to not completely close your doors to him if your truly interested, but tread carefully if he should come back. This happened to me a few years ago with a couple of women that were interested and while I was highly interested in them, I turned them down and stated I was unavailable (emotionally) because I had a lot on my head- mainly personal issues such as career, family etc. Looking back, I do regret passing these women by as they were wonderful people to begin with. Tough lesson learned. At present, my thoughts and cognitions aren't as black and white as before and actually letting someone in your life even as hectic as it may seem in the present moment, can be a reward and blessing. They may actually help you realize more or help you cope better with your predicament.
