MaybeSingleIsBetter Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 :confused:Where do I start...My sister and her husband are having problems ( This is'nt the issuse ) The issuse is her husbands little cousin. Shes 17 and I'll be 18 in a few months. I don't really know much about her. I've never really had a conversation with her. To be honest I'm afraid to. I'm not good at all with dating and so on. My last girlfriend was in 2005 and it only lasted two weeks. I really like this girl from what I do know about her. But my worry is that it would'nt work out, and I'm not to good at " breaking the ice ". I'm an outdoors type. Shes a city girl. I play with any animal. She afraid of frogs. And another thing I'm worried about is the family. My sister and her husband fighting could come to fall on a relationship with her because they are cousins. And to be honest I'm not sure if I want a relationship. I'm not the typical teen. I don't date, I've never been to a party, I've never drank, And the only time I've ever done drugs, I was 14. But her, She partied with my sis and her husband alot when they were not fighting, She drinks, And smokes weed every once in a while. Shes really well kept, I'm a pretty heavy guy. I just don't know if it would be a waste of time to try and get with her or not. She comes to my house with my sister every few days but I''m to nervous to talk to her. The question(s) is, Do i try to get with her. If so, how can I get to know her better with out asking her out or telling her that I like her? And another question, Why do I get aroused when I see her? I mean she is REALLY sexy but I've never had that happen with any other girl that I've seen. I've never thaught about sex at all up until now. Is it something about her, or is it that me not thinking about sex when I was in middle school is haunting me as I come closer to being an adult? And I think if I a male figure to talk to about this it would be easier. But, I never knew my real dad and my stepdad passed away this year. But I never really got along with him. Not having someone to talk to makes it that much harder. I just need to know what I should do. I'm tired of living in the shadows and avoiding her.
JohnnyBlaze Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Before we get to the heart of the matter, 1. Welcome to the forum. 2. [Grammar Nazi moment] Don't bold/underline everything, and break up your paragraphs a little. Not doing these makes the post easier to read, which generally translate into more responses.[/Grammar Nazi moment] Okay, that being said... Before you make a move on this girl, talk to your sister and brother-in-law. You NEED to make sure that it's okay with them if you make a move on the cousin. Otherwise, you may cause some serious rifts on both sides of the family. Also, if the BIL okays it, he may have some advice on what kind of things may work with her specifically. Advice from one insider is worth more than advice from a hundred outsiders. He knows her: he knows what she likes and what she hates. If he's onboard with the idea, listen to whatever he may tell you. As to why you like her, is that really so hard to understand? The fact that you don't see yourself as a typical teen doesn't mean that you can't find a girl attractive. Some guys don't jump over every girl they see; you're one of them. You don't really need to understand the whys of your attraction; just accept that you are attracted to her. Yes, going after her may be a waste of time. Then again, it may not be. Who knows? The only one who'll know is you, and only if you try. If you want to get to know her better first, just talk with her a little the next time she's around. You don't have to talk about anything deep, just talk. You'll get a rough idea of what she thinks of you from the way she talks with you. Most girls are good about giving off signals like that. Plus, if you talk to her a few times, she'll get more comfortable around you, and may improve your chances. If you get nervous around her the next time she's over, just tell yourself four little words: "this is MY house". You're on your own turf. The world can try what they want outside, but don't ever let anyone intimidate you in your own home. You have to show confidence at home. If you're not confident in your own home, you won't be anywhere else, either. That's just my 2¢.
