dvsxx6 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 So I've been seeing this guy off and on for 3 years and we finally made it official on May 21st, 09. I haven't had a boyfriend for about 5 years [i used to like a-holes but am completely over that now. My bf treats me as every girl should be treated, like a princess and is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me.] I want to know what are some sweet random things that I could do for him since I've been out of the relationship loop for a while. Thanks in advance:)
SoulSearch_CO Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 BJ in the morning to wake him up. LOL But seriously...it depends on the guy. Depends on his tastes, and also on the way that he most prefers to be shown love. I like the book about the 5 love languages because you can determine the best way to show someone love in a way they understand. I'm a touch person, so being given hugs, cuddling, holding hands, a back rub - all show me love. Someone else may be into acts of service. Someone else may be into words. Someone else may be into gifts. And still others may be into quality time.
carhill Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I can imagine very few men who would respond negatively to spontaneous acts of affection. Of course, I'm now asking myself why you've waited for things to become 'official' before asking such a question. I likely would've been wondering if my woman actually loved me, absent those sweet things, for all those years. Hmm...sounds like my marriage
MinziGirl Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Just be observant & see what he likes. It is very hard to tell you what sweet things you can do because you are the only one who knows what makes your boyfriend smile :-)
Soul Bear Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 You get what you give This is paramount, remember this!! Or that should be the case anyway in a balanced, healthy and loving relationship.
missdependant Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Tickets to a sports event Tickets to a concert A morning blow-job Breakfast in bed.. or make him dinner Buy him beer when he's watching sports.. Oh man, I have no idea haha.. Every relationship is different, the things I do might be corny. One time I changed my boyfriend's flat tire
Author dvsxx6 Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 Thanks guys for the replies. I was thinking of buying him the Dolce and Gabana 'The one' colonge [although I don't really believe he's the one, but I kno he'll really like the colonge]. And although I know I don't really need to buy him things, I know he'll enjoy that. And yah, every relationship is different and I should just be aware of the things that he enjoys. I'm sure it's not that hard but I've cooked him breakfast before and some other small things that I can't remember over the last 3 years. Thanks again guys:)
Kamille Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Cologne? If he likes to wear cologne, yes this might be a good idea. My current guy likes it when I do little things to show him I'm thinking of him... Sending a cute/funny email about how cute he looked that morning or happy I am with him. Or following up on inside jokes (say if we have a running gag about white socks, then I might give him some as a joke). He likes little things that show I care and that he means the world to me. And I like that he's so easy to please!
Trialbyfire Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Before you start buying things that aren't for a special occasion, maybe you should ask him what makes him feel special. We all make the mistake of projecting what makes us feel special, onto someone else.
Author dvsxx6 Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 I'm gona buy him the Dolce and Gabana cologne and cook his breakfast on Thurs morn. :-) And lunch lol I think that's a great start to showing him that I care for him hehe..
