Ruby Slippers Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 A very close friend of mine that I've known since I was 14 is getting married very soon, and I am having a hard time thinking of a good gift for her. Her family is extremely well-to-do, so she can basically get anything she wants with their money, so I'd prefer that it be something more meaningful. She and her guy are into: -wine -Ireland -punk music (he's a drummer, and she plays drums as a hobby, too) -photography -history and politics -vegetarian food Any ideas?
amaysngrace Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Yes. Macy's has a beautiful shamrock from Waterford and also makes a "Our First Christmas Together" with the year. They make nice keepsakes.
green_tea Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I've given paintings as wedding gifts many times and it's always gone down well. You say they like Ireland - what about trying to find a painting that depicts an Irish scene or something like that?
Author Ruby Slippers Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 Thanks, y'all. I just talked to her, and I came right out and asked her what she wants. She said since it's an out-of-town wedding and she doesn't want to have to worry about shipping all the gifts home, she's asking for cash & gift certs. That I can easily do.
