Isolde Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Ex, a girl that gets flustered easily or giggles around boys. Is this a turn off? I can't help acting like a fifth grader at times. I just really like the guys and can't hide it very well. (That said, I don't follow boys around or say suggestive things. I just flirt and giggle. LOL.)

I just really like the guys and can't hide it very well. (That said, I don't follow boys around or say suggestive things. I just flirt and giggle. LOL.) It can be annoying, like I'm talking to one of those broads from How High. And I sure wouldn't like to see my GF acting that way around another guy. I guess that's two cons. On a plus side though, it would be easy to make you laugh.
kizik Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Yeah, I think boy-craziness is a big turn-off. Getting flustered and giggling, though, is a lot different than this manly disgusting chick at my office - "I'm gonna chase boys tonight!" Gross. You'll never get one, I want to say to her. Anyway, try to keep your giddiness in check.
Author Isolde Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Yeah, I think boy-craziness is a big turn-off. Kizik, elaborate. It's a turn off to get giddy, as a single woman, why? (I'm no valley girl, and I'm not like this ALL the time, but yes, I'm a trifle self conscious.) Do you just personally prefer serious girls?
Author Isolde Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 I don't mean giddy as in, "OHMYGOD you're so cute lol I want your phone number hihihihihihi". I mean giddy as in, *blush* *giggle* *stares down at my shoes*
kizik Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Kizik, elaborate. It's a turn off to get giddy, as a single woman, why? (I'm no valley girl, and I'm not like this ALL the time, but yes, I'm a trifle self conscious.) Do you just personally prefer serious girls? Because I like a confident woman who could take me or leave me. Guys are like girls; we want a challenge. It's not a challenge if it's clear you're into us. Yes, I prefer "serious" girls, but that is not to say they should be standoffish/rude/arrogant/mean. I want my girl to be funny AND serious, but I DON'T want her to be gushing over me or to feel like I am 100% in control. Confusing, I know...
kizik Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I mean giddy as in, *blush* *giggle* *stares down at my shoes* That's totally adorable.
Author Isolde Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Funny thing is I used to be a lot worse than I am now. I'm getting more of a feel for things. Whereas before, a cute guy looking my way would get me all flustered, now it's only a particular sort of glance or demeanor that makes me wish we could flirt or get coffee. Sigh. Sometimes I really wish I were a man, in that I could do the old approach thing. But I'm sticking to my guns: I'm not chasing anymore.
kizik Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 As a guy, I can tell you it's not all it's cracked up to be. Yes, we are supposed to approach women, which leads to constant rejection. Lately I've just said "f*ck it" and taken myself out of the game. Make no mistake - it is all one big retarded depressing game. The grass aint greener over here, my dear.
Soul Bear Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 If your the SO and act like that whilst in a relationship then No...I dont like it. But if your single then YEAH!! Its called flirting!!!
start-fresh Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I mean giddy as in, *blush* *giggle* *stares down at my shoes* That's not not a turn off AT ALL. Definitely endearing.
Lights Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I wouldn't mind it. Especially if she's friendly and fun.
monkey00 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I don't mean giddy as in, "OHMYGOD you're so cute lol I want your phone number hihihihihihi". I mean giddy as in, *blush* *giggle* *stares down at my shoes* I like that. The older I get though, the more I prefer classy women who have that slight air of confidence with that killer gaze and smile. But that doesn't mean I don't like girls who show their shy, inner girl side!! That's also attractive.
kizik Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Isolde, I think we all agree that you're probably very cute, so don't worry. Just don't become an overcompensating chick who's always TALKING about men, or how she can't get a date, etc. That makes us all run for the hills. At least the smart ones.
EddieN Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I don't mean giddy as in, "OHMYGOD you're so cute lol I want your phone number hihihihihihi". I mean giddy as in, *blush* *giggle* *stares down at my shoes* I would like that a lot, because that would give me a clue that you're into me.

I just really like the guys and can't hide it very well. (That said, I don't follow boys around or say suggestive things. I just flirt and giggle. LOL.) It would not bother me at all. I find it a positive when a woman shows their true emotions. I don't have to guess what she's really thinking. Things that do bother me are when a woman is unreliable or plays hard to get.
lazlow99 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Girls that giggle all the time and act over flirty I find are really, really annoying. To me they just come across as attention seekers making noise to get noticed.
