iwanttolive Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Hi everyone, I believe we all want our partners to be a good helpmate to us. I consider a good helpmate as someone who's mature, wise, street-smart and knows how to do the right thing at the right time. I've a problem. I'm exactly the opposite of a good helpmate. I never knew how to give valuable advice to my partner. I'm also extremely careless and clumsy. I feel like i'm a burden to my partner. If I travel overseas, I'd probably lose my way and cause frustration to my partner. I make illogical and impractical decisions. Basically i feel like a useless person and I cause lotsa frustration to my bf. Is there any hope for me?
Lovelybird Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 First I think it is good of you that you want to be a good helpmeet. What do you mean do right things all the time? I know I do most of things right, but many people may not agree with, or happy about in some cases. Usually I seek wisdom of God, if that fits God's will, then I know even most people don't agree, I still would be ok. You mean do things "right" that most of people would agree and happy about ? or deep inside you know it is RIGHT? sounds like you are not very sure of yourself. Bible talked about a perfect helpmeet, a wise woman, not only good at taking care of herself, also good at taking care of her whole household, and even neighberhood. Her husband is very proud of her, and trust her totally. Her wisdom came from God. Her jewlery is her humbleness, her beautiful decoration is her honesty and charity heart. quite an amazing woman. Where do you learn wisdom? where do you learn, and those would grow on you. A wise woman won't burst out from a stone, they all learn through whole life. Do you have any role models?

I cause lotsa frustration to my bf. Some people are just not very practical. Your bf may think you are being deliberately obtuse -- make sure to tell him you are not. Hopefully, he will love you for your own special talents and for your good heart. Regarding being illogical -- that can improve with age and practice -- debating and discussing with people in this forum is a good way to practice!
