hey_editing_guy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 So what's the trick to meeting girls? Does it happen in the grocery aisle, is it a work place thing, through friends, bars? I've never been very successful at this....high school i was the AV geek, so we won't even go there. College was at an extremely small school with a very male population, during that time i worked 2 jobs to pay rent/tuition plus a very busy internship. Dating didn't feel like an option at that time, granted i still looked for it, but when nothing came i chalked it up as bad timing. Six years later there is still nothing happening, I'm 27 and still single. There's been two girls i've dated in the last few years (well, 27 years), barely a few months before they fizzled out, and that's the extent. I feel like the perpetual third wheel. I'm socially active, have a good group of friends, self-employed...i'm a calm, mellow person. I'm not ugly, almost 6 foot, buck 65, i'm pretty happy with my physical apperance. Most of my friends are already involved in relationships or married, and have few single/available friends that i could be introduced too. Chance happenings in a grocery store....right, most of the girls i come across have very little interest in returning the quick smile if our eyes happen to catch....same thing happens if i'm out at night. I'm starting to feel like repellent. I've done the online thing on and off for a few years now with very little success, a date here and there....then nothing. I've been growing very weary of sending winks and nudges I'm just frustrated right now....i see it happening all around me. My guy friends meet girls, date, relationships, companionship....it's been very disheartening to me that i'm missing this experience in my life. My 17 year old sister had called me up for some dating advice, and i had none.....
lora22 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 There is no trick, and it happens everywhere. How are your conversation skills? IMO, if I had to choose only one thing, that's probably the most important thing that "gets" me. Know that question about "Hey girls, what's the first thing you notice about a guy?" Well, obviously before you open your mouth she'll notice something physically, but most likely when she leaves what she's going to remember is your conversation and how you made her feel.
