mental_traveller Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 It seems a lot of the time alcohol is involved with people cheating. I'm interested, how many people who drink and occasionally (or often) get very drunk, have cheated whilst drunk? If so, have you ever cheated when sober, or is it just the drink that contributed to it?
Bejita463 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 or is it just the drink that contributed to it? Drinking is a lousy excuse. Even if you don't believe that drinking brings out a person's true nature. Whether it does or not, the imbiber had full control of how much alcohol they consumed. Whether someone was drunk or sober when they cheated is irrelevant. Using the drink as an excuse is a cop-out, and a poor one at that. Just my opinion.

I drink often, drank often through college and grad school, and continue to do drink, though less so than previous years. In college I was often very drunk. I never cheated. Alcohol is not an excuse for cheating. Also never cheated sober. My deduction is that some people are cheaters, and some people aren't. I think that, especially in college, people use their drinking as an excuse for cheating, but drinking doesn't make someone a cheater.
spiracles Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 i've been told that i am more likely to express my emotions when i am hammered, but i have never cheated. then again, i have never gotten that drunk while i was in a relationship.
Citizen Erased Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I've never cheated, drunk or otherwise, but I had a boyfriend do it when he was drunk. Now that was fun. Now I would never put up with it, never again. It's not an excuse and it never will be IMO.
samsungxoxo Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I gotten drunk before and would start acting out or go kinda wild but never cheated. Then again it has done in my friend and it was me, my mother and some friends of her, old people mainly. I don't know how would it had been like had I gotten drunk on a club or frat party with friend and had there been fine looking guys. I think I still wouldn't do it but see you never know. Then again, I believe getting drunk can get me into all sorts of mess but never cheating. I would immediately recognized it's not my boyfriend and leave right away in my wild state.
mark982 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 i tended to be extremely quite when i drank,so booze didn't make me cheat.
Dexter Morgan Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 drinking enhances one's character and personality. all alcohol does is drop people's guards and brings out their true nature. its like sodium pentathol
