dark1san Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I've heard that if you want to know what your partner is going to look like in their older years to look no further than their parents. Gal to mother, man to father. Not that I'd have any problems with it myself, my gf's mom is pretty good looking for being 50.
tigressA Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I think there's a little bit of truth behind it, but the appearances of parents certainly don't determine everything--there are some people who don't outwardly resemble either of their parents, but a more distant relative, like a grandparent or aunt/uncle. One's appearance as they age depends not on just genes, but on lifestyle as well--do they have a generally healthy diet, exercise, take good care of their skin and teeth, etc? My boyfriend and his dad look very much alike; they both have very masculine faces with similar features, so I do think that when he ages he will look like his dad. But if he doesn't continue to take care of himself he'll likely look like a very ragged version of his dad, which wouldn't be a good thing.
