daisyduchess Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 What to do about veiled death threats. Any advice, please! I'm not being directly threatened, like using my name or anything, so there is nothing I can really do legally, I don't think. But it's being posted using words like roadkill, police misplace a cruiser, biker dudes forcing their way in the door with a knife, weapon of choice, dogs being run over in a doghouse & killed, three crows being called a murder...I mean these sound like death threats to you, don't they? I am afraid to go into greater detail for fear the person who is writing them will read this. Do those sound like death threats to you?!!!! What can I do?!
zhsoj Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Well since this seems to involve legality why don't you give your country first.
Author daisyduchess Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 I'm in the u.s. This guy found out where I live, god I don't know how because I haven't posted my address anywhere, but he knows where I live! (I am actually moving this weekend, but I am afraid he could find me) He's been stalking me online, playing weird-ass mind games, he threatened me with rape before and after that I didn't interact with him anymore, totally ignored him and now he's posting things like this.
Trialbyfire Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Since it's online, you must have it in writing. Why not report it to the local authorities and see what they have to say about it? At least you'll be on record.

If you can I'd try to get the police and whatever company working together to figure out this person's identity and go from there. If you can do that you can explore legal actions against this person. Threats shouldn't be taken lightly, especially when the person knows where you live.
Author daisyduchess Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Thanks. I don't know who to go to, I've never seen this guy in real life but he has an online identity. Been doing this stuff for a long time, and I think he really is crazy as a loon, scares the crap out of me. I don't know if it's internet terrorism, or if he means to carry it offline. Is there any way to tell?
OverThinker Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 If you are concerned for your well being that is all you need to go to the police. Print up the text and take his online ID and the name of the site to the police, that is what they are there for. The police can contact the company and get all the information about the guy They can even trace his IP. If he is just a pain report it to the hosting company, But don't sit by and wait for something to happen.
