So I'm doing some job searches on Craigslist ( which is pretty cheesy) and I came across this ad for selling tshirts. So I called the person who posted the ad to ask for information about the job, which unfortunately wasn't really up to par with what I had in mind. I told him thank you and hanged up never expecting to talk to the guy again. Lo and behold, he calls me back ( from Florida of all places) and said that if I just want to hang out ( basically the job would require me to go out into the city; which was what I had wanted) he's open to a friendship/relationship sort of thing. Mind you the guy is 26 or something and for some apparent reason he told me he just recently broke up with his gf. Hahaha, I wanted to laugh right then and there, but I waited until I hanged up the phone.

You got to love the kooky people on the internet. :lmao:

Oh dear! Craigslist, not suprised. I've been checking job ads as well, primarily in education. Craigslist is the land of low-ballers and scams looking for your personal info SIN/(SSN in the USA?) so they can rip you off. Yikes! On top of that, they have people looking for fully-certified ESL specialization teachers with their degrees + 2 years experience for... $10/hr!! I didn't bother responding. Too bad I'm not single, perhaps I could get a date with a hiring manager :p

Just a different angle for hitting on women. Not bad.

Well compared to other job searching sites, Craigslist is at the bottom of the food chain. But it doesn't hurt to try.

I had fairly good response so far, I don't give out info until I'm certain they're legit, but then there's not really alot of ads that interest me or pay me enough for me to bother writing a email to.

I even tried looking at the waitressing section in the city but most of them require experiences that I don't have. Yet, I'm optimistic because I'm not a really big spender and my parents aren't all that keen about me getting a job as opposed to focusing on school. However, I would still like to be financially independent and have fun while working. So wth, I get a good laugh in the process.

I'll be totally honest, I'm not really sure what's kookier:

- People posting on Craigslist

- People RESPONDING to posts on Craigslist

I advertise garage/estate sales and home rentals on Craigslist with pretty good success. That's the only part of it I've ever seen. I swear I'm not a kook ;)

I actually posted once in the platonic section and I made a friend off that place, so I don't necessarily condemn it.

Hey, who am I to judge. I'm getting dating advice from total strangers LOL.

Job ads on Craiglist aren't actually that bad, here, the municipal and federal government has been posting lately. I got a great dog crate on it too, lol :bunny: I have a feeling that this dude is a bit of a creeper though, it's certainly unprofessional.

Hey...I've had good results selling AND buying stuff from Craigslist. I love that place. Of course, I wouldn't consider a relationship with anybody on there, but that's another story altogether.

The t-shirt guy, though - that's too funny. He didn't even have a clue what you looked like, did he???

Actually I gave me a link to my myspace, with only 1 photo accessible and the rest of my albums on private. But then he also had the decency to write me back with a photo attached ( how nice of him).

The only reason I won't go with the job is that it would require me to sell tshirts on the street as opposed to in a legitimate store ( he didn't specify in the ad) and I wasn't going to put myself in a legal jeopardy should I get arrested. So I declined politely. It's only afterwards he decided to call me back and tell about his dating situation.
