Depends on the snake. My dad is a game warden so I know how to handle snakes. I've done it all my life. If it were your household black snake or green snake that's perfectly fine. Rattlesnake or water moccasin and I say no game.

But if given the choice I'd choose sudden death. Both are equally icky and the spiders are a real fear for me.

But...Canada is full of Canadians.

This is just another example of why city people really have no useful purpose on earth, except as consumers. You are 100,000 times bigger than a spider, one city-dweller does more environmental damage IN ONE DAY, than all the spiders in North America. Give me an honest Arachnid any day over an urban wuss.:D:D

I'm not a city dweller by no means. The nearest town to me is 30 miles and that has a population of like 6,000 people and the best thing there is the new tractor supply they put in. But yes I am absolutely terrified of spiders. I always have been since I was little. Don't like it? call me useless. Frankly, I don't give a damn.

I'm a country girl. I'd rather eat raw meat than be near a spider. It's a phobia, plenty of non city people hate them/are afraid of them too. :p

What's that aboot, eh?:p

RC, if you and CE are not city people, then what happened to you? Have you lived in the city long enough to be brainwashed? Too many starbuck's? If you think it's bad here, then wait till you get to Canada and have to deal with the "snow spiders". Foot long, white camoflaged, and they have TEN!! legs.

CE grew up surrounded by crocodiles and tasmanian devils

Also they dont have Starbucks in Kentucky or anything else "jewey"

 Yeah, Tasmanian Devils are on the same level as crocs.

We don't have many Starbucks here either. The thought of upsizing our coffees and making them femme with soy milk or whatever is not exactly appealing.

I know its femme....but I love Starbucks...

That's cos you don't need real coffee to get you ready for the day..you know, the day of working on the farm.

I know how to drive a tractor. Do you? :p

 God no, I was kidding. But I do know how to drive a tractor. And how to grow weed... both of which I learnt at school.

Sorry CE, I didn't know that you were from the "Lost Continent":D. Been there,(Darwin) years ago. Almost drank myself to death. Don't you have those "funnel-web", jobs down there? Tasmanian devils are pu**ies compared to Bobcats. Besides, there's nothing in North America or Australia that Doctor 12 gauge can't handle.;)

 Everyone says that.

Yes, funnel-webs. I haven't seen one for years but they are creepy. I don't think b4r quite knows what Tasmanian Devils are. ;)

I think you're right, TD's are goofy little bastards. Saw a couple of "salties", that were no joke. Looked like armored buses. Yeah, Darwin was a crazy place. The booze was plentiful and Aussie women.............My oh my. Soooooo hot!!!

I actually live in Montreal but I'm here in Michigan for the first time AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! I swear, it is so much better. It's perfect.

&& I'm not really scared of spiders that much but I've never seen a REALLY big one where I live.

Laval, actually. But it's so close to Montreal you could probably say he's from there.

I've never lived in a city in my entire life. Yes, I grew up on a farm. What happened to me was I watched that movie Arachnophobia when I was like 3 and I've been scarred and terrified ever since. I STILL thoroughly check my bathroom every time I go in there. It seems silly that it would have such an effect on me, but I was young and it did. I still can't watch that movie. Also, the closest starbucks to me is 160 miles in Lexington, KY. So what's your point?

And really, I know that Canada has spiders. This thread was meant as a joke and to have fun and you insist on taking it so literally. It's true that he says he's never seen spiders as big as what we have here. HE hasn't seen, not that Canada doesn't have spiders as big. There's too much wilderness up there for there not to be spiders.

I don't mind spiders; they seem to be pretty good at eating the scorpians. Brown Recluses make me a little nervous, mainly for the kids.

Now copperheads on the other hand, just damn; I've killed 3 or 4 in the immediate vicinity of the house this year alone.

Montreal is an awesome city, I absolutely love it there. You should definitley think about moving there one day.

RC, I wasn't taking your post seriously, notice the "smiley",:) Yes, Canada has a great many spiders, but they are easier to identify. Canadian spiders tend to wear red flannel caps with ear flaps, and congregate around Swiss Chalet restaurants, unless of course, they're PQ, then they will try to separate from the other spiders.:D
