Maggs Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 My fiance booked his flight a month ago. We were actually going to get 2 full weeks together. With his job, he's lucky to get 10 days off in a row. Then a week ago the damn airline changed their flights. He now was only coming for 10 days. But at least he was flying out super late at night so we would still have the whole day and a chance for supper together. Now the day before he's due to fly they change the return flight again to earlier in the day meaning we'll only have half the day together now! It's so frustrating! No clue when we'll even see each other again and for them to cut it so short. They might get a very nasty letter from me!!
Adri Ana Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 It`s indeed disappointing, but being sad or nervous would not help . Try to look at it as at something that was as if planned this way from the very start . You will have else more chances to be together . Best of Luck ! P.S. And yes! Do write that letter. It will give you some relaxation .
Rollercoasterr Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 My return flight leaves at 6am. Damn you, Priceline Negotiator. And what's worse, like a week later plane tickets dropped $200. We're doing that K1 visa and didn't want to spend an outrageous amount of money if we didn't have to, but man we really got hosed. So I'm feelin' ya.
hoping2heal Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Rollercoaster, I don't mean to sound redundant but.. it sounds like your bf is from another country? . That sucks Maggs, I wish I had an airline to be angry with at this point lol. I just have a "general idea" so far.
Rollercoasterr Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 You would be correct. He's from Canada, I'm from the U.S.
Island Girl Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 That would make me so incredibly angry!! OMG I am so sorry Maggs. I am mad for you!
Els Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Ugh, so sorry to hear that!! Can they really change your dates like that, so drastically, at the last minute?! Surely there's something in their policy about this, unless it's due to external stuff like bad weather. What if someone had to fly to sit for an interview or an examination?! He would have missed it...
Author Maggs Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Well today has finally come and I wouldn't be surprised if they just cancelled the whole flight! (please I hope they don't though!!) I think next time should be a major carrier and not a charter, summertime thing. I guess we'll have to survive though and make the best of it. I just hope we'll see each other again soon. After those 3 months together over Christmas, it's a struggle to get back into this again!

He would have missed it... Yea they can. They're a charter flight doing just a summer route from a city-city. May-October. This is their first year taking over for a company that went bankrupt last year. So I guess they're trying to work out all their bugs and rearranging fly dates so it works best for them. And hence the changes for his flights which he booked before they decided to change everything around. ARGH! *think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts!*
Island Girl Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 *think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts!* *I am sending them your way for sure!*
