Three common terms used to describe people. Whats the difference? The only one im ever called is cute. It happens quite often but ive never been called sexy or hot, other than when im in a relationship.

Cute is more of a boyish good looks, nothing wrong with that and the personality sometimes plays into it. Sexy is an appeal that can be also personality and looks wrapped into one. Hot is HOT. Hot is looks straight away, very good looking with a dynamic body. No need to mix words with that one. I am presently dating someone that is HOT but his personality is more cute. Its a fantastic combo and a first for me, loving it......But cute is very good, enjoy:)

well damn how can i move from cute to hott? lol

Why do you want to?

Cute is the same for girls as it is for guys (generally). Guys want to meet and make gf's and wives out of "cute" girls. They want "hot and sexy" for arm candy and one night stands. I'd say the same goes for women.

At least for me: I don't want a guy who all the girls think is "hot" or "sexy", that just means he's in high demand... and high demand guys are trouble. I'd rather my guy be cute/ goodlooking and leave it at that. Though my bf is cute, hot, sexy, good looking- so it's all good :)

It confuses me why some people worry about this sort of terminology. Everyone has a different opinion of what each word means anyway. If I feel attraction I will want a guy to ravish me. That's it. LOL.

Maybe its just me then, cuz when I think of cute i think of little kids and puppies so when a girl calls me cute im like wtf! lol

Maybe im different in that instead of saying cute I say a woman is beautiful or gorgeous. It seems most peoples def or cute would fall into mine of beautiful.

Gorgeous for me is all around amazing looks like Im ready to go 24/7 AND an amazing personality (she could be my best friend too!)

Actually, I've heard women use the word "cute" to describe a guy who is attractive no matter how attractive he looks.

Even if he's "hot", he's still referred to as, "He is CUUUTE!!"

^ True.

For me, Lewis Hamilton is the sexiest man alive, but when asked: I think he's soooo cute. (aka hot, sexy, OH-lalala! etc.) you get the idea.

Take it as a compliment, period. You could be: "ewww, nasty."

I get cute all the time when its a girl who doesn't really know me or isn't comfortable around me. But when they tend to be more comfortable around me, its hot or sexy. My GF said she thought I was cute when she first saw me. Now she says I'm a "sexy yummy baby" lol, its all the same thing if you ask me.

For me, cute is more just about looks, whereas hot or sexy is about attitude. Basically, it comes down to confidence, knowing that you have something special to offer and you can tear it up.

A sexy guy (or girl) knows what he wants and has no shame about it. He doesn't care what other people think of the way he lives, dresses, behaves. He has manners and common sense, but he's not afraid to walk his own path.

Isn't it more the fact that 'cute' is an easier word to give a compliment to someone you don't know that well? They very well may think you're hot or sexy but don't want to be that forward with you. I know I can easily tell a girl I think she's cute but inside I'm thinking damn, she's hot. It's just more casual way of giving someone a compliment I think.

That's separate than actually viewing people as cute, sexy or hot though. I differentiate those types myself, but they're not necessarily mutually exclusive either. For example, a girl can be hot but I could still consider her cute as well. To me cute means having some endearing or disarming qualities. I would definitely choose cute over strictly hot any day.

Edit: oops didn't really see you were just asking women. sorry

I second Amistad. People will say that XOXO is hot/sexy to their friends, but to XOXO they'll say he is cute because that's not so forward, and frankly, "sexy" and "hot" can seem contrived when said directly to someone. I've been told I'm cute by girls who I have heard from others called me hot/sexy (not to brag). But yeah, I don't think I've ever been told I'm "hot" or "sexy" to my face.

And yes, the terms as distinguishing facets, rather than their usage, is a whole different matter. To me:

Cute = aww, I really want to get to know you better. You're adorable and you make me feel so good.

Sexy = Eye candy and good company

Hot = get on my bed. Now.

Ultimately though, cuteness trumps sexy or hot on any given day.

Just my 2 cents.

What youreasian said

Cute is a weird term in that it is either used for people you're not that into OR it's the highest compliment possible. Cute can denote incredible affection and when it does, it automatically means hot. :)

Good to know! I was basically inclined to yell at my girlfriend for calling me cute :o.
