Three common terms used to describe people. Whats the difference? The only one im ever called is cute. It happens quite often but ive never been called sexy or hot, other than when im in a relationship.

I think it means different things to different women and can vary a lot depending on the guy in question as well as the context in which those terms are used. It also depends on the situation. I've probably described my guy with all 3 terms at different times, depending on what he was doing exactly or what I was talking about.

"Cute" would be the sweet, endearing, lovely, caring side of his personality. Hell, even his nerdy side qualifies as cute to me.

"Sexy" would be the way he styles his hair sometimes, or what shirt he happens to be wearing.

"Hot" would be how passionately he kisses me sometimes and how tight he holds me.

My guy's the full package  Anyway, my point is, this is so subjective and different for everyone, you won't get a straight answer.

Yup, subjective.

Cute = passing glance at superficial looks.

Sexy = something about him that kicks it up a notch.

Hawt = tear his clothes off and ravish him on the spot.

You just need to get on a date with a woman who will let you kiss her...

PS - kissing quality is also subjective since women like different things.

I mean just by people knowing me, most of my female friends say im really cute, and then when they talk about other guys its sexy or hott, and i just cant find a difference between the other guys and myself usually.

Cute: Kris Allen, Matt Damon, Ryan Phillippe

Sexy: George Clooney, Patrick Dempsey, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Eric Bana

Hot: Matthew McConaughey, Christian Bale, Val Kilmer in Top Gun

What youreasian said

Cute is a weird term in that it is either used for people you're not that into OR it's the highest compliment possible. Cute can denote incredible affection and when it does, it automatically means hot. :)

Cute: Someone attractive.

Hot/Sexy: Wanna get in their pants or have their babies.

Never really saw a difference between hot or sexy though.

Indeed. What one woman thinks of as mediocre may blow another one away.

And what a better way to engage some level of compatability.

You're crazy. Ryan Phillippe is hot.

I'm all three. And if you stick your arm in my mouth, I might not tear it off. The very definition of a bad boy.

Cute outside the bedroom, hot in it..... women do this too, turn from little fluffy sweeties into dirty freakish animals. It's a mindbend.

Cute: nothing special.. just sweet.. (probably when the girl is not that into you.. she'll say you're cute... methink you ask them :D)

Hot and sexy is the same in my book.... if he's sexy.. he's hot.. if he's hot.. he's automatically sexy..

Cute: Dr Cameron

Sexy: Dr Cuddy

One can be sexy and not be hot

ANd one can be cute and hot

If a guy doesn't have some boyish cuteness to him, all the sexiness in the world, means nothing to me.

To me, sexy is a bit more 'superficial' than hot, to be hot to me a guy has to have brains and that something extra. So I guess hot to me = cute and sexy.

IMO:

Cute: Prince Harry

Hot: Hugh Laurie (any age), Paul Bettany

Sexy: a young Warren Beatty, young Johnny Depp

Isn't it more the fact that 'cute' is an easier word to give a compliment to someone you don't know that well? They very well may think you're hot or sexy but don't want to be that forward with you. I know I can easily tell a girl I think she's cute but inside I'm thinking damn, she's hot. It's just more casual way of giving someone a compliment I think.

That's separate than actually viewing people as cute, sexy or hot though. I differentiate those types myself, but they're not necessarily mutually exclusive either. For example, a girl can be hot but I could still consider her cute as well. To me cute means having some endearing or disarming qualities. I would definitely choose cute over strictly hot any day.

Edit: oops didn't really see you were just asking women. sorry

What Amistad says is true too.

I will say that a guy is cute when he asks or when I am not that into him. Or for guys that are average looking but I feel sorry for them.

Hot and sexy is the same to me. So is cute for that matter (when I genuinly mean it and it's not some fake compliment). I will either find a guy hot, sexy and cute or nothing at all.

I think for a lot of people, the status quo often changes as you get to know them more - and especially their personality. to each their own!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned 'handsome' yet.

Usually my words in using "cute", "hot" or "sexy" about a guy have less to do with his looks and more to do with the chemistry I feel for him. If I say a man is "hot", I am probably very attracted to him but he might not be the next Brad Pitt..get it?

The same guy can be all three, in different situations (and sometimes, in the same moment).

Some guys, though, just don't have sexy/hot in them. They are *just* cute. These are not the kind of guys I usually go for. I need more than cute. Sexy/hot is more masculine and sexually appealing.
