I went for an interview a state away, just checked my voicemail & they called back & offered me a position. I can't say no, I have to take it. There aren't any other jobs around where I live that would allow me to be self-supporting. But it is going to mean leaving my mother, who isn't well physically or mentally. My dad died last year, and she really has not recovered. There isn't anyone else but me to look after her. Anyone else been in this situation? Any advice?

I am not sure if your mom is physically or emotionally unwell, or if she is able to live by herself, or what sort of financial resources she has available.. Any chance she would want to move with you? How far is the commute from the new place to the old place? Good luck - this must be a very hard decision.
