pandagirl Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I've been talking to a few guys from an online dating site, but there is one that I am particularly interested in. He seems great! We've been emailing for two weeks now, good emails, getting to know each other, each email asking more and more questions. But, I've never gone on this long without the guy asking me out already! I'm afraid he's just not really interested and his biding his time. Bad sign? Normal sign? Do I just ask him out?

dreamergrl Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Ask him out. don't wait for him to do it. I second this. I had a guy 'winking' at me for weeks before finally I sent him an email saying "either talk to me or stop winking at me". We talked.
Cora Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Although I have never asked a guy out, I have always wanted to be bold and do so. If I meet a guy online it usually goes no longer than one to two weeks before we meet up in person, but I guess it varies with everyone. Any longer than that I begin to think he isn't interested. If you really like this guy I say just go for it! What do you have to lose?
Author pandagirl Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 I guess I'm just a little old fashioned like that! I like the guy to take the initiative!
Art_Critic Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 He might be looking for the exact right opening in the emails for him to ask you out.. Sometimes with email tones and expressions are hard to figure out and every now and then the conversation just doesn't lend itself to the ole easy opening.. When that happens provide the opening.. Either ask him out or make hints in your emails that you are wanting him to ask you out.. or just send him your phone number and say something like " I'd like to take this off the internet to real life.. call me"
gopher Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Most likely he's shy and/or afraid of being rejected.... Ask him out, he's definitely interested in you...
