lonelypiscesguy Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Me and my roommate were comparing notes about our bipolar ex GFs and we have come to the conclusion that it is too difficult. My ex broke up with me over pretty petty reasons, I think, and my roomie said it wasn't me, it was her. He got the same thing from his GF, for the 5 years they were together. Anybody else have any experiences?
carhill Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Personally, I don't think I'd try. I've been around a few (two are close friends, one of which is my BF's wife) and I've found it to be too tedious. I end up having to watch how I pay attention and how I choose my words. Also, during manic phase, inappropriate behavior pops up, even with meds. Gotta be watchful. I'm no crown prince when it comes to emotional stability but I sometimes get this ache in my gut like I gotta get out of there. I'd really have to love the person a lot and they'd really have to be on meds and monitored by a psychiatrist. Going off meds would be a deal-breaker for me. I've seen that
Author lonelypiscesguy Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Are they diagnosed bipolar by a therapist ? Yes, bipolar II, and she does take something for it.

Yep my wife whom I'm now going thru a divorce with is bipolar....(actually diagnosed with something else, but it's along the same lines) really sucks too because when she was in her good non mania moods she was the most happy go lovin person around....but when the other side kicked in...oh boy I had to spend all my time reassuring her of everything.. 2-3 days of good...1 day of bad, over and over again.... and to make matters worse, my wife wouldn't stay on medication cuz she didn't think she really needed it.......Her ****ty childhood has completely messed her up mentally...Parents who don't want anything to do with their kids should just be thrown into bullet ant pits....
Author lonelypiscesguy Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 It's funny you should say that about the parents, her father is a real piece of work. Hasn't had anything to do with her in almost 30 years. Her mother is a real sweetheart, however. Question; should I expect her to contact me at some point wanting to make a go of it again? She said she wants NC and doesn't want to be with me anymore, but I get this feeling...
