That was funny. I do not agree about 'open-minded and passionate'.

'Passionate' means she cares for sex. I have noticed as well that what guys write in their profiles is exact opposite to what they are.

It just goes back to my comment about people who announce to the world 'who they are'.

'I'm an easy going, fun, and free spirited person'.

First of all, who wants to consider themself a difficult, unfun, and lame person?

Next, most people who declare themselves as 'understanding' are far from it. Usually, they just want to convince themselves that they are something that theyre not, because they dont want to believe the truth.

I seriously feel like online dating is a waste of time.

This is what I think, I think there should be a world wide ban on describing yourself in personal ads, only friends and family can describe you.

How refreshing would it be to see how your loved ones describe the good and bad about you:

He's a grumpy bastard in the morning, don't even think about trying to converse with him before 11am. She's really good fun, great to hang out with, and please don't be put off by her bad dress sense which hides a fantastic figure. and so on

Yeah but only men would be brutally honest.

I cant tell you how many times a woman tried to set me up with someone who she said was 'really cute and fun' and it turned out to be the fattest, ugliest woman Ive ever seen.

Hmmm...yeah...actually, yeah so my theory is somewhat flawed. Damn!

I think my wife can likely describe me best

P I T A

Says it all, dontcha think? ;)

BTW, based on the parameters then in use on Matchmaker in the late 90's, both my wife and I described ourselves pretty accurately. I actually found the printouts of our profiles and some correspondence while going through paperwork for our D. Too bad we ended up being incompatible.

I think I'll forgo online dating and go directly to drunken sex with random women. It's the ungentlemanly thing to do and I've been a gentleman long enough ;)

Seriously, OP, thanks for the chuckle. It added levity to my work on property settlements today.

I have never, ever read a female's personal ad where she said one word about what she would be willing to do to make the right guy happy. She's always wanting a guy who is financially stable (rich), six feet tall (or taller) and someone who likes to walk on the beach. Hell, most people don't live all that close to a decent beach...that means you gotta fly there.

LOL,

Pain In The Ass

Given the grief I gave her today about accuracy on our property disclosures, I'm nearly positive that such a description would only be too kind.

Is there a place in one's profile to put "Meticulous"? ;) Oh, I know.... "Laid Back" :D

too funny! and I'm sure there a lot of different "real translations" for what men put in their online profiles... which is exactly why I will not do the "online thing" again... I much prefer real life!

I think that if a person has hundreds of pictures of their self posing the same way, in the same mirror, with their cheeks sucked in and making a kissy face that it says a something too.
