I was wondering, would you date a guy with an average body? He doesn't have "Muscles" persee' (sp?)...>BUT he does watches what he eats, is active....but not in the "working out 5 days a week" kind of way.

Just has a regular shaped body?

Now, I have noticed women that are "soft" that can look just as attractive as a woman that hits the gym, but are men held to a higher standard? Can a man get a way with just having a "regular" body like women can?

I mean, I have seen women that look attractive whether they work out or not actually (as long as they don't over eat and stuff)

Good gosh, yes.

From my viewpoint, women are held to a higher standard, but see? Different views from different sexes = nothing of importance!

I have dated guys with little tummies and love handles, I have dated a guy that looked like he came from Ethiopia and whose inner thighs' sharpness bruised mine when we had sex. I don't think I would date a morbidly obese man, because I would think he doesn't care about much, but other than that, pretty much anyone is a possibility.

It depends what a woman looking for.

If she looks only for sex your body is almost everything.

I am looking for only sex in this point of my life and I am seeing only men who have very good body and good looks.

But when I am looking for a relationship or marriage I have a different approuch. I am looking for the other qualities in a man which are more important to me in long term.

I have to disagree with bac. If I was just looking for sex, then any sort of body would do, as long as it had a working penis and a reasonable amount of stamina and agility.

If I am just looking for someone to complement me when we go out in public, then maybe I would only look for an Abercrombie boy, but to get laid? No one's going to be watching but me, so who gives a darn what he looks like??

No, would you?

I only date up ;)

If he's good looking, just put a bag over his head...... no need for insecurities to raise their ugly head...

Bells, nice to have you back :)

I keep thinking of Zach Braff on Scrubs where his character refers to him self as "Doughy" as opposed to his ex-girlfriends new Fiance' who has muscles. lol

Well, yeah I would....I would date "soft" women. You remember the girls from the 50's pinups days? Now they were soft and curvy.

Like Jane Mansfield. :)

We're not talking about women. Put on your bra and falsies for a moment and see things from the female perspective. Why would a woman want to date another woman with a penis? Hard, angular, firm. Strong. That's what she wants. Just like out of a romance novel ;)

I don't know. When I was in in labor, I had to put my arms around my nurse's waist and rest my head on her breasts so they could access my spine for the epidural.

I asked her to marry me, and at the least, to move in and sleep with me every night.

She was a plump little thing, with big pillowy, squishy breasts. Heaven!

Kind of an hourglass shape...BIG woman (not obese) , right? I've seen women like this, very pretty face too.

Yep. Made me rethink lesbianism.

She even fed me ice chips. (swoon)

Personally I prefer a physique that is not shaped by hours of gym time. Don't get me wrong, I like muscles, but I like the kind that are shaped by physical activity and working hard. Especially men who do competitive sports for recreational purposes.

if men don't want a woman with anything less than a perfect body(and I'd never be that way), then we are pigs.

but if a woman wants that perfect body, even if hers isn't so, then its just natural selection:o

Person who cares the least has the most control ;)

Since men are generally the sexual pursuers, that tips the equation in favor of women. Sorry about that...

I've dated all kinds. Chubby, skinny, perfect gym body and my current interested, which I would say has an average body. He's kinda skinny, not muscular at all, so I'm thinking he has an average body. His face is very handsome though.

And if we're talking sex, the hottest sex was NOT with the guys with the gym body.

I would date anyone except for the obese I suppose.

No. But to be fair, I wouldn't date any guy.

I've yet to figure out what an average body looks like, since men come in all sizes and shapes. Also, attraction is so subjective. People gravitate towards whatever is appealing to them and possibly them alone.

I like thin men. Sharp hip bones and defined abs. Some women might easily consider them too small of frame or too scrawny. Some women prefer beef cake, the overly-pumped gym rats. No thanks. Lean and fit for me.

Oh, gees. IMO, men can get away with being average more often than women can. But yes, I definitely am fine with an "average" body. I've never been with a guy that was in perfect shape. Everybody has flaws.

Posted

I don't like much muscle. It makes me feel overwhelmed. I'd take a slender guy any day over muscles :)

Posted

Everybody has flaws.

That's just it. If you're too focused on the body to consider minor differences flaws, then you're not focused enough on the entire man.

Posted

Definitely! My favorite is reasonably slim where you can tell the guy goes to the gym a couple times a week but he doesn't have that hard look to him. I've personally never been one for the teddy bear type, but overall, face is far more important than body, i.e. there has to be something in his expression and eyes and smile that I find sexy.

Yep, exactly, more than a little sinew and muscle doesn't feel "real" to me for some reason

I always thought that I would be super paticular about an average body until I had my daughter. Don't get me wrong, because i'm still 5'8 and weigh 126 lbs, but I feel better about my self despite my stretch marks and no waist. I guess cuz I feel better about what my body accomplished, i'm not so hard on others.

In fact, the guy i'm dating is my height, but he weighs 200. Not chubs, though I love his gut, but definitely not my norm...far more strong than i'm use to, but I like it. I guess it just depends on who the person is and how you feel about em.

Here, here, sister! My BF's body is shaped by hours and hours and hours of badass freestyle skiing and running and tennis, and only about 2x a week of gym time. His physique is athletic, and has a purpose beyond just looking good.
