hibiscus21 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I was wondering if its inappropriate for a boss to call one of their female employees things like sweetie, sweetheart, names along those lines. Or is it perfectly harmless?

If my boss called me "Sweetie" or "Honey", it doesn't phase me in our business; we're in the South, and just about every guy I know calls women by endearments. If I were a secretary working in an investment firm or in a law office, it would bother me. If he followed me into my office, shut my door, and called me "honey" while trying to unbutton my blouse and his fly at the same time, I would turn him into the CEO.
