DavidoffAndorra Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Ok this has no relation to any other threads I have made. Lets say I have someone who I really want to be with in committed relationship, but the friends just are just well....skanks but she isn't. Women these days are REALLY into their friends.
Star Gazer Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I'm judgmental to the extent I do judge people by the company they keep. If I met a guy who had a herd of man whore friends, I would NOT date him.
amymarieca Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 If someone tends to be on the more "wild" side sexually, it doesn't necessarily mean their friends are. My best friend and I have very different views about sexual matters, but it doesn't affect our friendship by any means, nor does it affect the way we both see sex. I think to assume that someone is promiscuous just because some of their friends are is quite presumptuous. Also, you have no right to call someone a "skank" unless you really know what goes on in their bedroom.
Mycroft Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Its hard to say, I've often had various groups of friends, often I didn't fit the mold at all, but still had a good time with the groups. One of the funnest friends I had was a TOTAL player, playing girls all the time, and back then I was horrible with women. He would try to help me out sometimes, but I didn't really want his advice. (which looking back I should have taken more of his advice, just used it for good ) Hanging out with him didn't make me more like him, if anything I wanted to be less like him. Even though he wasn't really a great person(he wasn't always the best friend either), he was a lot of fun and I hung around him for that. Its probably why he was so good with women.
JustLooking123 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Why would an emotionally healthy woman want to hang out with skanks? Either she's an under-cover skank, or she has her own set of issues.
amymarieca Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Why would an emotionally healthy woman want to hang out with skanks? Either she's an under-cover skank, or she has her own set of issues. And what exactly is your definition of skank? You seem to use that term quite loosely.
Cherry Blossom 35 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Yeah, what does skank mean? Your use of this term makes me think that you are judging these women without really knowing them. It is a very pejorative word.
start-fresh Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I tend to hang out with guys that are more on the reserved side, like myself. I'm definitely not saying everybody is like that, but I don't feel comfortable with loud, life of the party type people. Same thing goes with relationships. A lot of my friends are more into the stable relationship type situation than casual flings or 'picking up' women. With that being said, I wouldn't automatically rule her out as relationship material. Give things a chance and if she's that easily influenced by her friends, she isn't worth your time anyway.
SoulSearch_CO Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Why would an emotionally healthy woman want to hang out with skanks? Either she's an under-cover skank, or she has her own set of issues. Heck, yes. Totally agree. And what exactly is your definition of skank? You seem to use that term quite loosely. Yeah, what does skank mean? Your use of this term makes me think that you are judging these women without really knowing them. It is a very pejorative word. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=skank 1. Skank Derogatory term for a (usually younger) female, implying trashiness or tackiness, lower-class status, poor hygiene, flakiness, and a scrawny, pockmarked sort of ugliness. May also imply promiscuity, but not necessarily. Can apply to any race, but most commonly used to describe white trash. You know that girl Crystal that lives in the trailer park? She's a total skank. A judgment, perhaps. But I think friends can tell you a lot about the person. Although, I have to say, I don't understand what looks have to do with anything at all. I'm referring to the part of the definition about looks.
Trialbyfire Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Is this the girl you're trying to pickup in church?
JustLooking123 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 And what exactly is your definition of skank? You seem to use that term quite loosely. My use of "skank" was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. I only said it because the OP did. You can feel free to substitute your derogatory-term-of-choice for a man or woman.
