Building from my previous thread as to why I keep getting in-between yes and no when asking a woman out, I would like to obtain people's opinions on whether or not its better to get to know someone first before asking them out.

Does this improve the chance of getting a more direct answer (yes or no)?

Also, from what I understand dating is the time you get to know someone right (then go into exclusivity if both are compatible, break it off if not)? Or is it more on the lines that when you ask someone out it means you are intending something serious i.e long term commitment?

(I'm asking because I have been out of the dating scene for a while and I think I interpret dating differently from most people?)

While you are dating you are knowing about them. Getting from stranger to acquittance to lover has to be quick. IMO, don't do the friend's first stuff; you'll be stuck in the friend zone.

I say speak your mind and get a direct answer, no point beating around the bush when you can be in the bush. :p:lmao:

Each date does not have be "exclusive." Dating can lead to something exclusive. Just be yourself and go with the flow. The point of dating is for you two to know each other and see if you two want something more.

I'm pretty relationship-focused. Meaning that when I go out with a guy, I'm deciding if he has any serious potential for a LTR. But I definitely don't consider the first date an offer of said LTR.
