I love to hear stories about how people met, and what brought them together. I'll start:

I was 15, and a friend said that some guy had been asking about me. Well, the guy was 18, and we ended up going all the way-It was my first time! My Mother had him arrested for statutory rape, and our relationship ended......until 20 years later, I met up with him on a rare chance; he was post divorce, I was trying to wing it on my own back in my home town. That spark was still there, and now 11 years after our second chance encounter, we are married and in love!

I feel so fortunate to be with the man whom I lost my virginity to; don't know why, because it's really not all that important, but it feels good for me!:D

I'll answer on behalf of my mum & dad as i'm not married :p

They met in a pub. My mum had a fiance and my dad was living with someone. My mum was drunk and fell of a bar stool. My dad helped her up. They both left there partners, married at 21, and have been together ever since :)

I met my H at his girlfriend's house. LOL.

I love telling the story that way because it makes it seem like something was going on and it wasn't.

We met while I was visiting her for a bit and then he went back to his home several states away. I was taking care of some financial aid things for school and he volunteered to give me a ride, so we ended up hanging out for two days. Everywhere we went, people thought we were a couple. It embarrassed the hell out of us as we really didn't know each other, just got along well.

Well, she dumped him shortly after he went back to his state and told me that he really enjoyed meeting me and maybe I should call him (as in, date him).

Well, we did start a long distance friendship for a few months before we started dating, because I had a *boyfriend* (LOL).

Anyway, we found that we started talking on the phone everyday, so much that both of our phone bills were over $1,000 one month. So I decided to move to his state for work - and love.

We've been together ever since. Never regretted it for a minute. It was a chance meeting that changed our lives.

My wife and I went on a kayak trip to an island in a lake. Her boyfriend (relationship i didn't know about) visited with his power boat and took us on a ride. We saw 2 kayakers. At the time, this was unheard of. I'd never seen another flatwater kayaker. When we got back to the island, I took my kayak and intercepted the other two (cleverly leaving wife's future hubby and wife alone on island). I caught the two kayakers and was too friendly, as usual. Gave my phone number to the fellow. His sister I hardly noticed. His sister is now my wife. And wife 1 has departed.

We worked for the same company. Not in the same office but because of partitions etc we could see each other at our desks but no interest in each other whatsover. Colleagues would say to me, "Oh Wuggle wanted to know...", and he would be told "Anne1707 was asking about...." with none of them thinking anything would happen. To be honest I thought he was a bit of a ***** (he does know this :)).

Anyway a group of us went out from work one night and he and I ended up sitting next to each other and finally talked to each other. We always talk about that night as a meeting of minds. From that night I was completely and utterly hooked. I just knew.

As for our work colleagues, they were totally dumbstruck when they realised we were a couple. They had never expected that

We met at university through mutual friends - we were both 22. We are from different countries, so we had a long distance relationship for about 3 years. Then she came to live in my country. After 2 years, we moved to her country and we are still here and still married (albeit with a few problems and lots of kids... :))

I was walking on the boardwalk near my house and I charted chattin her up. To be honest I just wanted to have some fun and never in a million years thought she would one day be my wife but we started talking and I fell in love once I got to know her mind.

He would come into the coffeehouse where I worked, and I was stunned by him. Literally. I still find him incredibly attractive, even though we aren't together anymore.

i was on a social/dating/networking website, and he wrote because he found my profile hilarious. however, i had been just about to change the profile drastically, because i already had things in motion to move 1000 miles away and just wanted to use it to make friends in my new area. we struck a chord with each other, though, and got along well enough to start IMing back and forth. we became friends, and IMed and emailed back and forth for six months, even though we had never met in person and i had gone ahead with my move to another state.

six months in, i came back to my home area for a week to spend a holiday with my family, and arranged to meet him to see a concert. we met for dinner beforehand and spent hours walking around and talking, and drank too much at the concert and started making out like teenagers. that date turned into a three-day affair, until i had to leave to go back to my new city.

his birthday was a couple of weeks later, and as a gift to himself, he flew up to visit me for a long weekend. soon, we started flying back and forth every other weekend, and he paid for me to come down and visit my family again for christmas when i was broke. we spent ridiculous amounts of time on the phone with each other, and neither one of us likes talking on the phone, ordinarily. he gave me my own drawers and the key to his house, and introduced me to his daughter, even flew her up to my house in the other city a couple of times so we could all spend quality time together. she and i got along great, still do.

after just six months of this my lease was up, and he asked me to come back to my hometown and move in with him. i was nervous, because it was a huge leap and we are from a very expensive area, so if things didn't work out betweeen us it would be difficult for me to move out on my own again, and i was leaving a good life i had been building successfully for myself in the new state. but, i loved him and thought he was worth the risk, and he couldn't move to be with me because of his daughter (who lives with us 1/2 the time).

three years after i moved in, we aren't technically married...yet. we're having the legal wedding ceremony on the anniversary of that first date, coming up in a few months. currently we are engaged, have already had a non-legal handfasting commitment ceremony with a couple of our best friends, have been living together in domestic partnership, and have an infant son together. we were a little worried about how that would go down, but my stepdaughter absolutely loves her baby brother.

i love my story because it shows that every once in a while computer dating sites and LDRs can work.
