"if wife had", a hypothetical using the past tense. The "if" is critical to understanding this. No disclosure of private info , as he said "if she had tested positive..."

Again, why, if DNUI was intent on painting as bad a picture of his wife as possible, doe he divulge this somewhat exculpatory info about her>

 

"IF wife HAD, (but wife did not)"....indicating prior knowledge.

I don't envy your situation one bit. I'm glad to hear that you are free from disease and hope that things work out financially well for you in the divorce. You are a better man than I, as I don't believe that I could control my temper. It's good to see a stay at home father doing the best he can for the future of his children.
