PLEASE, shed some light on this!!

I have a guy friend. We are not really friends, cause we just recently started "hanging out" (we used to work together but didn't really talk that much back then).

Anyway; it was his birthday (couple of weeks ago) and I went to his birthday party. I found out he had moved to my neighbour hood so I told him it would be fun to hang out some time, now that we live closer to each other! A couple of days later he sent me a message on facebook telling me he really appreciated me coming to his party, and that he'd like to buy me lunch/dinner sometime! So went to have dinner, it was a bit awkward cause none of us really knew if it was a friendly date or if it was a date-DATE!

He also seemed a bit nervous, so I kept talking a lot to make him more comfortable.

Didn't think I'd hear from him again, but surprisingly enough he sent me a text (he has my phone no. and I also have his), to ask me if I wanted to join him and his friends one night out! I couldnt make it that time, so he texted me back saying it was a shame I couldnt come, and that he'd be "very busy the next few weeks but I'll let you know if/when something cool happens!" (something like that).

I thought that sounded a bit like he didnt want to see me again cause he would be so busy....??? So I deleted him from my phone, but however, he sent me another text a few days later, asking if I wanted to join him for drinks. So we went on a second date, and this time he seemed a LOT more relaxed, I was the one who was nervous!! And he also started telling me some personal stuff about his dreams and goals and stuff, which surprised me a bit.

That was our second date, after that we've kept in touch via Facebook.

However, about 2 weeks ago I asked him to come and join me and my friends for dinner, which he did, and he seemed really happy that I asked him.

After that, I havent heard from him, it was now been 2 weeks, and not a word. No text, no message on Facebook - NOTHING! What is up????? I am really surprised cause I was sure he was at least a LITTLE interesed??

After all it was HE who asked ME out in the beginning? Could it be that he's lost interest all of a sudden??? (And why is that, when he seemed to interested at first?)

I don't want to intimidate him by asking him questions about why he hasnt called etc, cause that would probably scare him off....... But why hasn't he texted me or something? I know he's not the texting/calling kind of guy, and he's also somewhat shy - however, he has a lot of female friends so I'm thinking maybe he just wants to be friends?

But do guys really ask girls out on ONE-ON-ONE dates, if they are just interested in friendship?

Please help????

Signs that he is interested though is for example:

-Has emphasized several times that he'd like to hang out, and that he'll let me know of stuff

-Always seems really happy when I write him on facebook, like uses a lot of smileys and stuff

- He seems very nervous a lot of the times, and he gets all stiff when I try to hug him. Either he gets stiff because he hates hugging me, or because he's nervous, I can't tell which it is haha!

Does he seem shy? Do you know one of his friends you could ask? How certain are you that you gave signs you were interested? What's the harm in calling him and seeing if he'd like to do something?

Life is too short for ambiguity.

I agree with both the above post. Call him and don't say why haven't you called that will most deffenatly scare him off. As far as a guy asking for a One - on - one date with just a friend that could be but most of the time it is to feel things out. If your not dateing it is not that unlikly that a guy would be intersest and go weeks without calling if he is busy. He may also be putting feelers out to see if your interested in him, Wondering why you haven't called?

It's all a part of the dance called dating.

Good Luck and call him
