LDR + Webcam?

Hi everyone. I was curious and wanted to know what other people think about this...

For those of you who talked online before you met in real life, did you ever use a web-cam? If so, was anything different than when you met in real life? Apart from smell etc?

 

Do you think using a web-cam is the next best thing to being face to face with that person?

 

What are your general thoughts on using a web-cam?

Things are different in real life than through a web cam for a variety of reasons, but a web cam offers a form of closeness that is nice in the same way as using voice instead of text when possible.

 

Talking in person is different than using ventrilo too, but it is still nice.

Well...I was with my boyfriend in the same town for 5 years before he left a few weeks ago. So I can't really say what it's like meeting someone face to face that you've never met before except through webcam...

 

But I can tell you webcam is awesome! For me, it is definetly the best way to talk while he's away b/c I can see his face and hear his voice at the same time. I love my webcam. I always try to get prettied up before I get on it so he is seeing the best version of me. lol.

Webcam is an essential. It has made my relationship so much better since I got one.

When my SO and I first starting talking online neither of us had a web cam. I think we got web cams last year and then it was like "why the hell didnt we have these".

 

Web cams are an LDR essential. Gotta have one. And a voice chat service like yahoo or Skype. Nothing like seeing your baby smile. Plus other stuff too.

But we don't and never have.

 

I gotta look at the bright side! My husband would never be an internet porn addict or have an online affair. He doesn't know the first thing about operating a computer. He is terrified of breaking them.
