Again, if he was interested, would he have for 100% sure made a move?

Spookie, it is very possible that he is attracted to you and would ask you out under different circumstances and see where it goes.

But men are logical, and logcially this would not look good for him.

However if his interest in you is as high as yours in him, he wouldn't be able to hold back.

Also men find it easier to be attracted to women than women to men (at least type like you and me who rarely get "strongly attracted-I want to jump him NOW" to someone).

So for him, even though he might feel quite an attraction to you, he probably does to some of the others too and chances are they are in less complicated situations.

While it's all very well to be able to respect and admire someone without putting them on a pedestal, sometimes in order to get over an obsession, you need to go the other way around and try to convince yourself they're boring or else not what you're looking for. Maybe that's delusion, but sometimes it's necessary to get over that bump. I'm not advocating degrading Jack in a serious manner, guys. Please lighten up.

I understand and agree with you. But it would have helped to tell her to do just this, rather than just impune his character on your own, ya know?

That said, I think Spook needs to do more than just tell herself that he's unworthy. The fact is, as she's decribed him, he's Type A and goes after what he wants.

Yes, everyone on here has given good advice.

It's true that as BEG said, men tend to be far less single minded and therefore, less emotionally vulnerable to one person (not when dating--but when they're single and looking). So it's entirely possible for a guy to be somewhat attracted to you but not feel the need to do anything because you two are incompatible and/or there are other options for him.

I picture Charlie Sheen. :)

Also I think TBF is right, if he wanted her he would have taken her. Or transferred her so he can take her ethically.

Truthfully, he sounds a bit "normal" for who I perceive Spookie to be from her posts. She sounds like she would be more compatible with someone with a wilder, spontaneous, more avant-garde streak. She does NOT seem like the MNF type. I bet he was watching the hockey playoffs tonight, too, and except for beer consumption, Spookie doesn't seem like a hockey fan!

For fun, let's take Jack apart.

Physically:

He's a short, balding or bald, Greek guy.

Career:

He's barely made it to supervisory level in 7 years.

Socially:

He barely goes out, preferring to stay at home and watch TV.

I'm not seeing an alpha go-getter here.

He's lactose intolerant, but refuses to take Lact-Aid, so he farts all the time at home.

what does hair loss have to do with ambition?

I'm just not seeing the normal white-collar alpha men I'm accustomed to targeting. This guy strikes me as pretty mediocre or less.

I added the physical description because people had mental images of Jack, which didn't seem to jive with what spookie's posted about him.

Damn, I was waaay off with Charlie Sheen then. Why in the heck does she see in him? Emotional unavailability?

youre certainly living up to your reputation

Wait a minute. You were SERIOUS about that description?? No WAY.

If so, i take it back about him being lactose intolerant. I have never been close enough to him to know about his digestion.

I honestly think it's the EU, unattainable component that makes Jack so appealing.

I think the bottom line is that Spooks isn't accustomed to NOT getting the guy she wants. That's intriguing to her.

I don't doubt Jack thinks spooks is a hottie- but I do think that he is probably insightful enough to know what kind of trouble he could get himself into if he dated her.

He's thinking with his head- not his penis. I am betting this is new for Spookie.

Go ahead b4r, get it all out there. I'm intensely interested to hear about my reputation. You've already sworn at me a number of times on LS and in private. Go ahead. Get a grip on your balls and do it.

Spook, didn't you already pull him aside and tell him about your crush on him? and then you tried to get transfered but HR wouldn't transfer you? or is this another boss?

I have enough infractions

It's too late to worry about friendship. You've judged me which is fine. Whether that judgement is accurate, means dick.

Now it's your turn. Of all the people on LS, you should know me better than that. Just goes to prove that some people know dick.

The word judge is rather harsh

I dont judge the entirity of you as a person on a few harsh comments

But to say a person is mediocre because they may be short and losing their hair and have only made it to middle management in seven years is totally elitist and a bit b*tchy, especially as youre rather short and no spring chicken

I realize youre a very good looking woman and quite successful, but to point a guy who has totally understandable human limitations and then say he's not worthy of someone's affection, because he doesn't live up to your aryan superman vision of an alphamale is rather rough

Your reutation is that of a spoiled demanding *****. I don't think that of you but I see these tendencies in you
