Is it really possible that all the chemistry I feel is ALL INSIDE MY HEAD?

Absolutely.

Thanks...........

You're not crazy. If you follow him home and take pictures of him when he's sleeping for a Jack sleep collage, that is crazy. It is normal to be attracted to someone, it is unfortunate he doesn't feel the same.

I know you are all probably sick of my asking this question.

But.

There is no way he does feel the same way, but he doesn't want to risk his (and my) career?

I mean he's put 7 years into it. I could see how he'd thinking sleeping with me would be a bad idea.

Thanks alpha. But I told him I liked him. But he's my boss.

What can that mean?

Ok. I'll take that, ad keep hoping that I get transferred one day, so all my sexual fantasies could come true.

Me thinks if you got transferred, you'd lose interest.

Me thinks you like the excitement of this situation because of the "danger" it presents. Once that danger is gone, you'd find him "blah."

Hard to say. He could emit a charisma which women interpet as chemistry on his part.

From what you've told us, Jack isn't half as interesting a person as you are. It seems like he goes to work and then comes home and watches tv. He probably likes to watch football on Monday nights with his friends.

From an outsider's perspective, your crush seems so out of proportion with who Jack really is and it's frustrating for us to see.

Cherry Blossom once had a great tip. Keep telling yourself how mundane and boring your crush is--not only does he fart in bed really bad, but also you just wouldn't be able to have a soulful conversation w/ him over fine coffee or tea.

It works because 90% of the time, they really aren't very interesting people except in your head.

I don't agree with Isolde's assertion that he is more boring of a person, therefore is not crushworthy by spookie.

He sounds quite successful and we really know nothing of his personality and nothing which could lead us to believe that Jack is boring and therefore unworthy of spookie.

That is quite unfair to degrade his character/personality/being in favor of hers....no one is better than the other in anyway.

However, not everyone is going to be attracted to the other.

we just have to accept that not everyone we we like will like us back, it's just a hard fact of life, but it doesn't diminish Jack in any way.

And what exactly makes you come to this conclusion? That he's not interesting? Or that a guy who likes to watch MNF is boring???

I think that the chemistry you feel could all be in your head, yes.

And I definitely don't think he sounds shy, or too shy to make a move on you if he wanted to. He sounds dynamic and well-spoken. You just might be a bit young and, um, flighty for him for a romantic partner.

When people start getting a bit older, they tend to start looking for romantic partners that they think would compliment them for a forever relationship. And you just may not be what he would look for. Chemistry is fantastic, but it takes so much more than just chemistry to make a secure, healthy and loving relationship.

That doesn't mean you have bad characteristics, but just ones that are different from what he is looking for.

Odds are, hes probably not that good in bed. Small hands and all. You were doing good Spookie. How about making friends outside of work? Get on a softball team its spring.

Okay, fine. So Jack is brilliant, generous, kind, intriguing and yet laid back. How does that help Spookie get over him?

Obviously, I'm not trying to denigrate Jack! Why would I do that? I just happen to care more about spookie's well being than Jack's.

Also, I think I remember Spookie saying she didn't know why she was so attracted to him because he's not really her type in terms of her interests. Forgive me if I'm wrong on that spook.

spookie, you paint Jack as a go-getter, intense guy, who's alpha. If this is a realistic rendition of him, you'd be doing him right now, rather than wondering if he even likes you.

The image and actions don't jive, if he's got a high interest level in you. So, either he's not the man you've painted him to be, or HJNTIY.

Put away the ego and let it go.

While it's all very well to be able to respect and admire someone without putting them on a pedestal, sometimes in order to get over an obsession, you need to go the other way around and try to convince yourself they're boring or else not what you're looking for. Maybe that's delusion, but sometimes it's necessary to get over that bump. I'm not advocating degrading Jack in a serious manner, guys. Please lighten up.

Your comments smacked of intellectual elitism, that's all. I was expecting SP to be backing you up, even.

Just because they don't have anything in common doesn't make him uninteresting. You might find Spookie fascinating; others might find her predictable and boring. It's all about interaction, compatibility, chemistry, etc.

Funny. I always pictured him as Adrian Pasdar.
