What do you mean 'ever'? Some years the Cubs kick our a** and vice versa. I haven't been following baseball hardly at all the last couple of years or so though.

 

Did we sweep the Cubs when we just played there? :o

 

That is the best time to go to games here though. The Cards/Cubs rivalry is one of the most fun in baseball. It's a tight bond. Remember when Daryl Kyle died in Chicago and it was a Cub player who announced it to the fans at Wrigley? Gut wrenching.

 

ETA: oh yeah, and I was openly rooting for the Cubbies to go all the way to the WS, was it last year?

Remind me to show you the "special" brick adornment on the building where you're staying. I hope they give you a card to get into the garage where they'll be parking your car so we can see it better.

 

Basically, the brick layers who built the building in the 1800s were either trying to be funny or were pissed off at the people who contracted them, but instead of a fluer du lis that they were supposed to put as decoration, they put something, um, kind of similiar. But not quite.

 

It's one of those things that unless you know it's there, you'd never see it.

 

ETA: I should mention that it's at least 9 stories high and was done at a time that they'd never dream anyone would see it unless they had access to a scaffold, let alone the werewithal to put it against the building to see it/photograph it.

we'll be starting the weekend off on fri nite by hitting some rib-fest that will have puh-len-tey of beer flowing along with food and live music. decided to go with reserved seats up front. some famous band is playing, what are they called? night-stalker or night ranger or something, they sung that song "sister christian" :lmao:
