MissHollywood Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Hi all, I met a new guy through friends. But because the event was too crowded and noisy, we didn't get a lot of time to talk. We managed to chat a bit and I believe we both had a good feeling about each other. There was only time for him to give me his number as we were pulled away by friends. I just texted him to ask him out. This was a few days later. He was enthusiastic about meeting up again. The thing is he didn't say when and where. Is he less than interested and just being polite? Did he not want to appear too eager? Did he think since I suggested it, the ball is back in my court after showing his enthusiasm? Just a note: My friends don't know him well because he's a friend of their friends.
Mahatma Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Well ... he gave you his number for whatever reason, you contacted him, you suggested a meet-up, so I would assume he expects you to pick the place too. Guys who give girls their numbers are usually odd ones... so good luck!
SoulSearch_CO Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 The ball IS in your court. He probably thought you were just testing the waters to check his interest level. Now go for it with a time and place.
dressing up Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Side question: if nothing (a date) is set in stone, is it OK to get back in touch after a while? Is there a "time frame" or can things be resuscitated?
Author MissHollywood Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Thanks all for your replies. Would also appreciate some more comments from other members.
Author MissHollywood Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 SoulSearch_CO, does it mean that he's, at the minimal, a little interested also? That he knows I'm interested and his reply suggests that he is too?
SoulSearch_CO Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 SoulSearch_CO, does it mean that he's, at the minimal, a little interested also? That he knows I'm interested and his reply suggests that he is too? LOL...yeah. If he responded with enthusiasm to your idea, I'd say he's interested. It's been 3 days - what are you waiting for? Just go for it. The worst that can happen is he'll say "no." Although he already has, in a way, said "yes!"
BobSacamento Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 If it were me I'd at least say "That sounds great, how does insert day sound?" Does he want you to do all the work lol
Author MissHollywood Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 I suspect he is already going out with someone. Maybe that is the reason for his enthusiastic-but-lack-'initiative' reply. Time to back off.
