beautiful_stranger Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Hi all I'm on the verge of leaving my job or waiting to get fired. During my employment, work has paid for some of my studies which amounts to a few thousand dollars. One of the preconditions of taking up the studies were that we pay back the money if you leave within a year of finishing the studies. I'm not too sure if i would still have to pay for the course fee if i was fired instead of quiting What is the most appropriate way of asking this question? and who is the best person to ask? Thanks in advance!
curiousnycgirl Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 In the US standard practice is that the employee's obligations to the Firm are relieved if the employee is terminated. Similarly if there is deffered compensation, of any kind, it would vest upon termination.
