SizzlinKola Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I used to be really outgoing, I don't know what happened. Maybe because I got older my perspective of the world changed. I don't know, does not matter. So, I'm here to ask, how can I be outgoing? A problem that I have is when I'm alone with someone and I don't know what to talk about. There is a LONG awkward silence that sets it and I can't find anything to talk about. I want to be able to keep a conversation without awkwardness setting in. I mainly have this problem when it comes to new people I want to get to know. Another problem is talking to acquaintances. I feel really weird when I talk to someone that I've known for a year, but I never talk to them. I don't know what to do about that... I also feel like I don't have enough friends, I constantly get jealous on how my friends always get texts while I always have to start conversations and no one ever starts conversations with me. Same thing with Myspace, I see my friends having alot of comments each day on their profile while I have very little and small amount of friends. Sad. I want to be outgoing...Can you guys help me?
shoesies05 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 If you want it, then just start talking to people. Hang out in groups so that the conversation flows easily and is more fun with less pressure than a one on one hang out. Then once you get to know people from the group better hang out one on one if you want with someone you click better with. Clicking with people can be difficult somtimes, and you have to remember that while you can have a lot of friends- the good ones are the only ones really worth it. Start a new activity, something you enjoy... and that is involving others. Even if it is say a book club, just join one. Or if you like biking- join a club also. There are many great ways to meet people. Next- be confident in yourself, because they wont want to be around you otherwise, and if they dont like you for who you are- oh well... there are other people that will. Good luck. Hope it was helpful.
