I just eat small portions and that's one time a day and exercise religiously...

I was 131..

Now I am 123...

trying to get to 115 lbs...

My male friend even commented on the slimmer me... ;)

I know I shouldn't let peoples comments weigh in my head but it felt good that someone noticed...

My family doesn't notice ..but Oh well..maybe it's because I'm around them soo much...

Anywhoo I'm glad...

My birthday is Friday the 1th and I'll be the big 2-3

Yippee!

Hey my birthday is tomorrow too! :D 18! Yeah!

How did you lose that weight? I am a small girl about 5'4" and I weigh 119, I wear a size 3 to5 in pants.

and it all is in my stomach and ass, I don't look fat, I just want to lose maybe 5-10 lbs, get in shape. I exercise 3 times a week, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Oh and by the way happy birthday! :D

I wear a size 5, use to be a 2/3 and am trying to get back down to that size and be leaner....

Is contradictory with

I don't obsess over it

Your approach is significantly flawed. Your dietary practices are very poor and your time spent in "exercise" is placing this all in the realm of an eating disorder. None of this is scientifically valid and I neither endorse nor condone this type of approach.

what, exactly, was the point of your post? If you've read anything in the forum you posted on, you'd have known that Ryan's a proponent of health and would be likely to comment. If all you wanted was to brag, maybe you should have posted to 'rants' instead. I agree that you are going about it all wrong, but you are welcome to damage your body as you see fit. That you got thinner does not mean the way you went about it was wise, so photos would be meaningless.

I am new to this board..so I didn't know anything about Ryan's background..

I'm just tired of being attacked about my way of dieting... I am not consistent with my routine..Because I may eat breakfast and exercise in the evening and have a light meal...

I try to eat 1-2 times a day and exercise considerately... Is that so bad...

Posted

It is, but since it's usually Ryan's topic, I'll leave it to him to explain why (if your mean comment about his hair hasn't put him off).

Honestly I made the hair comment as a joke...

If he can't laugh about it then..Geez! No sense of humor....

Anyways now that I know who Ryan is I'll look at his comments differently...

And that's that..

I will kiss no ass here...Unless it's reciprocated *smile*

geez everyone chill out.

yes her eating patterns are not good, there are very few people that do eat properly :(

I think that it is not good to attack someone :( I am new here, but I believe that it is rude, and uncalled for. :(

Even if she did have a major eating disorder, coming at her like that will certainly NOT help her. Just make her more defensive about it.

I am not trying to fight here just trying to make everyone see the other's side. So I am sorry if I have offended anyone but, calm down.

NO one was attacking her. Ryan simply stated that what she was doing was unhealthy, and it is. And this is coming from someone who spent many years anorexic and bulimic, becuase I started off by eating very little and exercising. So I agree wholeheartedly with Ryan, and not only that, I KNOW where this kind of "weight program" leads to becuase I have been there. YOu need to be careful poems, becuase what starts out as being innocently trying to lose a few pounds, especially the way youre doing it, can turn into something that takes over your life.

1. I never attacked the person. I attacked the approach. Learn to distinguish the two.

I do not have a problem letting others state their opinions, but yours, If this was my post, I would definately be offended, and NOT listen to your advice. It may not be obvious to you but your post is very blunt, and it may be best for some people to hear, it is not helpful to everyone.

I believe that the statements that you made are true, and that you are a good source for advice, but you need to look at your approach if you are trying to help her.

This forum lets everyone from 14+ (13 and younger if their parents let them) online to reply to the forums, and most of these posts are not usually acurate, professional advice.

I am not attacking you, I am attacking the approach, you may be good with health and eating and exercising habits but you are certainly not good with psychology. Learn that alot of people are sensitive to their problems and not willing to admit them usually.poems may not have a problem, just bad eating habits and if she did have a problem you would certainly not be helping her.

And niko, as someone who has also had an eating disorder, you shouldn't assume that you are the only one who has experienced that. You should also know the way that you would of reacted if you still had that disorder. You would automatically attack the person who points out your problem.

I am NOT trying to fight I just would like you to try and understand my point of view because I understand yours.

I state facts, whether people wish to hear them or not.

I correct fallacies, whether people wish to hear them or not.

This is the section for matters of the body, which are largely scientific.

I'm more concerned with the 50 people that may silently read this thread than the one person who is entrenched in the mistaken beliefs. I am not going to play the role of the participant and encourage something inherently detrimental. My responsibility is to the validity of the information presented.

And I suggest that words are chosen carefully, as borderline personal attacks are being placed here.

I see your point, and it is very true, I hope that those who have problems do secretly realize this.

I am not attacking you I think that you are very right in your opinion, I just wish that you could attempt to see mine.

People should understand that someone disagreeing with a person's ideas, facts, or opinions does not constitute an 'attack' on the person.

I have a huge amount of difficulty understanding why people feel 'attacked' if disagreed with. Yes, if a person says 'that's a moronic idea and you are an idiot for thinking that way', that's an 'attack'. To say 'your approach is flawed' speaks to actions, not to personality and therefore is not an 'attack'.

You eat once a day? what the hell. Oh well, your loss. Once you eat "normally" again you'll put on twice the weight....!!!

I never assumed anything, thank you. In the world of dancers, you see eating disorders everywhere. Maybe I was just the lucky one, but I knew I had a problem. And I still see no problem with Ryans approach to how he handled the situation. There was nothing wrong witht hte psychology of it. And that is coming from a psych major. And as far as poems, I was simply stating that what she is doing usually leads to an eating disorder. Even before it becomes a problem, the person sees nothing wrong with thier approach, becuase people compliment, therefore they continue as is. And they continue to see nothing wroing with their approach, and even when thye DO see something is wrong with it, they cant stop. IM not saying you didnt have something, becuase I dont know you, and I am no one to judge. I was mearly pointing something out to peaches, in concern for her, becuase she could very well sit down, read these posts, and say, damn, theyre right, what I am doing is not a very good or healthy thing. And I think THAT is what Ryan, and I were both originally trying to get.
