serial muse Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I listened, I read everything you said. I just disagree, thats all. You shouldnt assume because we have conflicting views that its only because Im not listening, although Im sure Im guilty of doing the same from time to time. My point was only that, for me personally (and obviously I dont speak for every guy in a world of over 300 million) adding 'but' to any statement means that youre only sorry if I admit something. If thats not what you were implying, then my mistake. Why even bother making a s****y apology? I wouldn't know, because my point was, I wasn't making one. By the way - sorry to the OP about the threadjack. I know I dragged BCCA along with me, too.
BCCA Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Just so we're clear, are you saying that you arent saying 'but' at the end because you want an apology as well?
serial muse Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Just so we're clear, are you saying that you arent saying 'but' at the end because you want an apology as well? I'm saying that my apology is not conditional on his. I would have made it anyway. Adding "but" is my way of saying "but that doesn't mean we can stop talking now, I need to continue the discussion." That's not a conditional apology - I''m still expressing responsibility for whatever and I would have anyway. As I indicated in my original post, I was tired of not having the full discussion and I needed it to continue. It is not always an "I'm sorry but you suck too" statement - that is a ****ty apology. Sometimes, as I have been laboring to say, it is an "I'm sorry for TKTKTK. I shouldn't have done that. But I'm hurting too. Can we talk about that too?"
kizik Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 All I read was the title of the thread. Why are women so stupid?
BCCA Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Here is my post: 'Im sorry for X, I didnt mean to hurt you. I also want you to know that you did X, and that bothered me.' and yours: "I'm sorry for TKTKTK. I shouldn't have done that. But I'm hurting too. Can we talk about that too?" Perhaps we were saying the same thing all along
serial muse Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Here is my post: and yours: Perhaps we were saying the same thing all along Haha, apparently we were; just expressed it differently. See there, I was not guilty of reading that bit in your post. Okay, then, I'm sorry. See, men and women aren't so different after all. (Now you can go talk to my BF and explain it to him.)
BCCA Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Just to give a clearer example of what I mean, this is what I hate: "Im sorry for doing X, but I've just been under a lot of stress, and its not like you did Y" THAT is not an apology. The last example you gave was perfectly fine, it seems maybe I still my 'BS guard' up from my last ex
serial muse Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 whoops, last post should have read "guilty of not reading" Anyway, apparently our little TJ is over now and we're all friends again. Resume thread.
Author lazyhappylucky Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 If you can't express what you need to a partner, this isn't a good thing. Never be afraid to piss someone off or worse yet, lose them. If it takes walking on eggshells or pretending to be someone else, to avoid conflict, you're not compatible partners. that's exactly how I feel
Author lazyhappylucky Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 All I read was the title of the thread. Why are women so stupid? maybe you should have read the whole thing at the risk of being attacked by every woman that read your comment which was ugly and unnecessary, all the women that date you are obviously stupid because they put up with your lashing attitude
BCCA Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 maybe you should have read the whole thing at the risk of being attacked by every woman that read your comment which was ugly and unnecessary, all the women that date you are obviously stupid because they put up with your lashing attitude Not that I in any way, shape or form agree with what he said, the title of this thread is kind of disrespectful to men overall. It was also ugly and unneccesary.

Isn't that what you just did to him?
fishtaco Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 This thread is a perfect setup for gender war. Let me add some oil to the fire: Oh yeah!?! All women are <insert derogatory phrases>!!! I'm too lazy to think up witty insults. You people fill it in yourself.

Author lazyhappylucky Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 Lashing attitude? Isn't that what you just did to him? nein because to lash in definition, is to make a vicious comment on something stated without fully analyzing the meaning. those that do it often usually don't have the best lives, and plus it was kind of stupid to comment saying "I didn't read this but I'm going to say something that will get people pissed at me anyways" honestly, would you do that?
You'reasian Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 just a question, totaly not trying to be a bitch but it seems to me like a lot of guys dodge the truth until it's convenient for them. In any scenerio, if they're wrong they deny and dodge until it's convenient. Not saying all men but some, why? I guess it depends on the person right? I think women are more likely to dodge the truth than men.
Author lazyhappylucky Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 Not that I in any way, shape or form agree with what he said, the title of this thread is kind of disrespectful to men overall. It was also ugly and unneccesary. being called stupid and dense are two different things. I'd rather be dense than stupid, and I gave an explanation, you could have been a baby and taken it personally or you could have just read it and got the question. I can't stop anyone from being offended and for that I apologize which I did in the original thread, and I stated only "some men". What he said was in deed lashing, and was really rude and unnecessary, and yes very ugly. But like I said, it depends on the person, naturally I don't believe anyone is stupid(technically to be stupid, you'd have to have no arms or legs, be deaf, blind, dumb, mute and all)
You'reasian Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I don't believe anyone is stupid(technically to be stupid, you'd have to have no arms or legs, be deaf, blind, dumb, mute and all) Are you English?
Woggle Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If men are so dense why do women expect us to be pyschic and read their minds?

When you're stupid- it's impossible for you to understand due to some type of brain damage. Now which one is worse?
