shadowplay Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 my actual allocation of time: 1. doing schoolwork 2. making art, building miniature sets in a woodshop, taking photographs, shooting and editing short films. Sounds cool but the fact that it's all for school kind of takes away the joy because everything's on a tight deadline and I never have time to really develop ideas as much as I'd like. Because of my extreme perfectionism I'm always put myself under so much stress. 3. Loveshacking and reading bad celebrity gossip blogs to distract me from my problems. 4. Reading the New York Times online Hmm....that's basically all I do lately. I oscillate between working 24/7, hardly stopping to even eat (about 3/4 of the time), and the rest being so depressed I can barely get out of bed, crying about my ex, surfing the web. On the upside I don't watch TV or play video games. The good news is I've made two friends in my classes, but I find myself not having the energy to further develop the friendships. Something in me is reluctant to put in the effort. I can't seem to focus on anything but school. I don't feel hopeful about ever dating another guy or socializing or having fun hobbies. I just need to succeed. I wish I could get out of this mindset.
