Hello, upon searching the internet trying to learn more about immigration and the laws, I came across this site and decided to write, in hopes of getting some answers.

I have a lot of questions regarding immigration.

I’ve been dating a guy from Guatemala for the past year and a half. The problem is he’s illegal in the United States. He snuck into the country seven years ago.

I really wanna have a future with him because we are in love. I heard that if we get married in America, he’ll still be illegal though and will still have the risk of getting deported. Im curious if we get married in HIS country, can I take him back here afterwards? Will he then be able to have legal status here?

Is it also true that we’ll have to prove our marriage is real and not just a scam for him to gain citizenship?

What will we have to do to prove it? How much of a hassle will it really be?

He’s a very good guy. Never committed any crimes here….is hardworking and our relationship is really strong….we both really want to be together…So please, tell me the best option for doing so…Thank you

You'd have to speak to an immigration lawyer, and hope that la migra doesn't catch him working at a car wash.
