lostandinlove Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Hey i am looking for some advice- I was engaged to a wonderful women for 1 year and dating for 3 total, i was diagnosed with ADHD and i was drinking heavily, and on anitdepressents and high blood pressure pills. around christmas she and some family members tried to intervine and were acusing me on being on pain pills. i blew up and moved out and strated drinking even more. One night a friend of mine came over and we were drinking and things went to far, my fiance caught us together, after the fact i lost all sense of everything and wound up putting myself in a rehab facility. there i was informed that i was mis diagnosed for ADHD and that i was bipolar, and the other meds with drinking just made me crazy. in fact i don't really remember the last 8 months of my life, it's kind of a blurr' but through it all she stood by me and is still in my life to this day, i have done everything since then to show her that i am a better person than i was before and that i truly love her with everthing that i have. i have since then stopped drinking and have been focusing on all the right things. my life and attitude have made a 180. my girl is still here but unsure of us, and i don't blame her a bit. she still tells me she loves me and still talks to me and we still do things. but she tells me she needs her space and that she wants to put the oieces back together' but she is not 100 percent sure, and it is killing me. i want to be her rock and i know that i can be but she is scared is there anyone out there who could help me out i am so lost and in love.
stephy Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 The only thing that will help is time and for you to show her you aint going to slip back into alcohols grip again.Count your blessings that she has stood by you through all of this that right there shows she truly loves you.Just give her time and prove to her that you are done with the alcohol and the crazy behavior. Go to AA and also find a counselor or psychiatrist to help you deal with your bipolar. But basically the only thing you can do is give her time.
