How important is alcohol for having sex with a new person?

I've been reading lots of stories about people hooking up for the first time, and in most of them alcohol was involved.

 

What purpose does the alcohol serve? Is it easier to have sex with a girl when she's a little tipsy? How do you know when she's had too much and having sex with her would be wrong? The last thing I want to do is take advantage of a woman, but that fear may have prevented me from making moves when it was actually safe to do so.

 

If I bring a girl to my place should I offer her an adult beverage? Does the time of day matter? What types should I have available?

- Dating: Helps you relax, takes off the pressure.

- Relationship: Not very important

 

If I bring a girl to my place should I offer her an adult beverage? Does the time of day matter? What types should I have available?

 

Depends on your culture and accepted norms I guess. I'll drink anytime after noon on a Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun, while I know people in other countries wouldn't dream of it that early.

 

Everyone has their favourites of course. Can't hurt to keep some wine hanging around and whatever spirits you personally like.

 

Might seem a little creepy if you keep a stocked bar of things you don't drink to appeal to all the tail you bring home.

If she's not sober enough to give rational consent to the act and her state of drunkenness is taken advantage of...that is called rape and a male can go to jail for a very long time if she sobers up and is very pissed about the situation. That's what fake names and motels are for. (assuming everyone here is playing above board and the woman is the villain)

Since in this day and age for people in college it seems best to have sex early in the "relationship" or else the guy might get placed in the firendzone. So 1-3 are the most valid.

I actually don't drink that often. I don't like the taste of beer or wine. I like the flavored drinks that don't taste too strong. One example are the Bartles and Jaymes cooler thingies. I guess I'm wondering if there are any drinks that would appeal to more women? I don't drink alone so I don't want to buy something they don't want to have.

Just have a few of those drinks you like on hand, the coolers that aren't too strong tasting. When you get to know her a bit better she'll tell you what she likes to drink and then you can make sure you have some of those in stock for her, if she sees you again. OK I can do that. I'll just make sure I have some stuff that I like. That way at least one of us will drink it.

This I disagree with. A girl is not going to say, "OK now you can kiss me." Even if she wants a guy to kiss her she may still reject him if she isn't comfortable enough. That's what I think the alcohol is for.

I know that. It's not what I was asking. My question really is how do you know that her YES isn't really a yes because she is too drunk?

It's because you're not a guy. You don't get put into the friendzone if you don't try to make a move on a guy. I've hung out with several girls over the years and I know that if don't make a move by the 3rd or 4th hangout I've been labeled a friend and I might as well stop talking to her because we're never going to have sex. When I meet new women and get their phone numbers and try to hangout with them, I'm not looking to make a new friend.

Let me explain myself lets say you meet a girl your not 100 sure you would even want to try to have a relationship with her.

 

But you decide to go a head and have sex great congrats you just got laid! Sadly you decide the next day or maybe a few days later that shes not the girl for you.

 

Any ways she gets pissed out of her mind "flaky" and all of a sudden that drunk sex you guys had a few nights before isn't consensual any more!

 

I know its a long shot but its something to keep in mind thats what I meant and yes if its just a sex hook up and you know that before hand I think it should be made clear so theres no hurt feelings or confusion afterwords.

 

Just cause you hit on some one doesn't always mean you like them past a romp in the sack so saying she will know cause your hitting on her doest do it IMO anyways...

Frankly I haven't had sex in several years. I'm not going to do anything that will lessen my chances of getting some. The girls feelings are kind of irrelevant to me. How many women would even agree to having sex with a guy if he told her that he wants sex and nothing else?

 

I will never disrespect a girl or make her feel dirty but if she falls in love or something, that's her problem. Like a girl would fall in love with me :rolleyes:

Over the years several of my lady friends have told me, "I don't hook up with my friends" or something similar to that. So if girls don't have sex with their friends, why would I want to be a girls friend?

Just be sure to be at least as drunk as she is. Problem solved. :D
